TATA MOTORS AWARDED NATINOAL IPR AWARD

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a prominent player in the global IT services and consulting
industry, has been honoured with the esteemed 2023 National Intellectual Property Award in
India. TCS received this recognition in the category of 'Leading Public Limited Company for
Patents Filing, Grant, and Commercialization within the Service/Others Sector.' Additionally,
TCS was also acknowledged with the National Award for Enterprises by the World
Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
These awards exemplify TCS's resolute commitment to fostering innovation, creating
intellectual property, and contributing significantly to India's thriving intellectual property
landscape. TCS has demonstrated a profound grasp of market dynamics, effectively applying
this knowledge to assist clients in their quests for growth and transformation.
The company has diligently cultivated an innovation-centric culture, implementing robust
processes and structures for identifying and nurturing promising ideas. As of September 30,
2023, TCS boasts an impressive track record, with 7,665 patent applications filed and 3,153
patents granted, underscoring its steadfast dedication to advancing intellectual property.
Piyush Goyal, India's Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, applauded the pivotal role
of innovation and intellectual property in India's journey towards becoming a developed
economic powerhouse. He emphasized that technology and innovative concepts are the dual
engines driving economic progress, with intellectual property rights serving as the essential
fuel propelling this engine forward.
Goyal also highlighted the significance of women in the field of intellectual property,
emphasizing their untapped potential and advocating for their active participation. He noted
India's remarkable ascent in the global innovation index, rising from 81st place in 2014 to
40th place, with an ambitious goal of breaking into the top ten.
