EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This guide is for the mobile gatcha-style game, known as Last War: Survival. In order to
understand the basic terminology of the game, it is recommended a player read this after they
reach headquarters (HQ) level 5.The guide will serve to help new players learn the game, until
headquarters level 18. Regardless of a player’s experience in game, this guide will have a
purpose whether it be reminding a player of certain fundamentals, level requirements, etc. This
document will be split into multiple parts, such as newbie-level, which is regarded as HQ 1-10, a
novice level, which is regarded as HQ 12-16, and an intermediate level of 16-18. For a TLDR
and the most important tips possible, please revisit the Table of Contents and click the
“Play style and General Tips” section. This will contain tips to the game which are
extremely useful, though you will miss out on explanations.
The estimated reading time for the full guide is 29 minutes and 41 seconds according to
niram.org/read/ .

1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Purpose
As the creator of this document, cerealman, looked for information about Last War: Survival
online, the player did not find anything besides the subreddit, r/LastWarMobileGame . The
subreddit did not contain key information the player needed to have an acceptable early game,
causing a lot of completely avoidable mistakes. This guide serves to introduce a new player to
the game in a wall-of-text way, which may not be educating for some players. This guide
contains key tips for a successful early game, finding an acceptable alliance, hero explanations,
efficient resource gathering, and more. This guide will not contain things such as resource
requirements, detailed information on misleading parts of the game, and more. This guide will
contain elements of for P2P (Pay-To-Play) players, as it is the most common form of play in
high-ranking alliances.
1.2 Acronyms and Abbreviations
The player guide will contain many acronyms and abbreviations. Any acronyms and
abbreviations will be listed at the bottom, under the Glossary section, and will be spelled out
and/or defined.

2. GAME FUNDAMENTALS
2.1 Overview
In Last War: Survival, the main goal of the game for an individual player is to accumulate as
much power as possible. A player with an acceptable amount of power should be part of a strong
alliance to prepare for an event called Server Wars, which is another server raiding your server
and attempting to take the capitol and various cities. Winning or losing this will define the
outcome of your server. Once the top 10 alliances are situated, every other alliance will become
resource farms.
2.2 Game Modes
2.2.1 Base Expansion
This game mode is a crucial part of the game, as it is useful for a variety of things. The game
mode is used to defuse the bomb strapped to Monica, collect various rewards such as hero xp,
recruitment tickets, epic hero shards, resources, and occasionally more rewards per level.
2.2.2 Special Operations
This mode is the advertisement-accurate part of the game. One reason it was created is to protect
the developers from being sued and staying in accordance with the U.S.’s laws on false
advertising. However, while the game mode is a bit lackluster, it still provides you with hero exp
for completing each stage. The game also rewards you with a small number of troops per stage to
go into your drill ground, and the number of troops relies on how many you live with per stage.
The troops accumulate and are stored in the Special Operations building, which you can redeem.
It is wise to not redeem these troops until HQ level 15. If you complete a Special Operations
stage at Level 4 with Level 1 troops and redeem them at HQ 15 with level 5 troops, the game
will recognize those troops as level 5 troops. Before HQ level 15, you will not need those, thus
should be not redeemed until then. The reason you redeem these at HQ level 15 is because you
get a second drill ground, and that is a MAJOR spike in power (A range from 3 – 3.5m to 5 –
6.5m). Ideally you would wait to redeem these troops until level 20, as you unlock level 7 troops.
2.2.3 Arena
This game mode is straight forward and does not require much effort. The game mode is a 1v1-
based mode, where you tap on another player and challenge their squad troops to verse your
squad troops. If you win the battle, you will take their place on the leaderboard, and they will be
knocked down one place on the leaderboard. If you lose the battle, your place on the leaderboard
will be unchanged. In most servers, the people you go up against will be fair game. This means
players will be allowed to attack players they are allied to. To discourage farming worse players,
if you attack someone lower than you on the leaderboard and you win, you will not move on the
leaderboard at all. Each battle win gives you a copious amount of hero xp, and through Arena
rewards you will gain Honor Points which can be used in the Honor shop.
2.2.4 Honorable Campaign
The honorable campaign is like Special Operations, though you face an AI team in a 5v5. It will
allow you to play through various stages to unlock certain rewards. The rewards the honorable
campaign gives you are very good, with a chance to fully level up one of your heroes which will

be very costly after level 60. You can only use heroes once per stage, so who you pick early
matters.

2.3.1.2 Murphy
Murphy is a paid hero in the game which is also crucial for your team from the very beginning of
the game until the very end of the game. Murphy is a tank hero who specializes in taking a lot of
damage. Murphy’s skills are listed below with a detailed explanation.

2.3.1.3 Mason
Mason is a damage-focused hero which does not have to be paid for. Mason is rewarded through
the Base Expansion game mode and should be a member of your early game team. Mason’s
skills are listed below with a detailed explanation.
Mason’s auto attack and Tactics skill are swapped, which I believe is an error from the
development team. The order you should upgrade Mason’s skills are Fire Cover since it is his
form of consistent damage, Quick Reload with good burst damage, and then upgrading Zombie
Purge last. The reason you upgrade his passive last is that while it is a good passive in the player
vs environment modes (PVE) it does not affect battles against other players.
2.3.1.4 Violet
Violet is a tank that uses her poison to kill her enemies. Violet specializes in being a damage-
soaking tank hero but can also deal out good damage if enemies are close to her. Violet is a hero
you can get by being free-to-play and you can upgrade her to ATLEAST three stars without
paying. Violet’s skills are listed below with a detailed explanation.
o Tactics: Poison Mist
o Continuously spray toxic gas, with each hit dealing Physical Damage equals to X
% (Scales with level) of the attack. (Cooldown: 1.6s)
o Auto Attack: Toxic Gas Attack
o Prioritizes attacking the front row units, dealing X% (Scales with level) physical
damage and reducing the target’s attack by 6% for 4s. (Cooldown: 9s)
o Passive: Z-Armor
o Reduce this hero’s damage taken from zombies by X% (Scales with level) in battle.
Violet’s auto attack and tactics skill are swapped similar to Mason’s. It is recommended to
upgrade her Auto Attack first since it will decrease the enemy’s damage, then her Poison Mist

second as it does good Area Of Effect (AOE) damage. The last skill to upgrade is her Z-Armor,
as it only gives her damage reduction in PVE game modes.

2.3.1.5 Monica
Monica is a supportive tank hero and is not required to be paid for. She is a hero which
specializes in giving buffs to her team and giving negative effects (debuffs) to the enemy team.
Monica is a hero which you will use early in the game, though she will be replaced by heroes
that come out in the future. Below Monica’s skills will be listed with a detailed explanation.

equipment should be applied to Kimberly first, then Mason if you have an additional one. The
second equipment slot is damage-resistance and hit point (HP) boost. The third equipment slot is
a mix of both, and the fourth equipment slot is also damage-resistance focused. It is
recommended to achieve UR rated equipment as quick as possible, as the power boost and stats
it provides exceeds that of a level 10 SSR rated equipment. Damage focused equipment should
be provided to damage focused heroes such as Kimberly and Mason, and tanky equipment
should be applied to damage-absoring heroes such as Murphy and Violet.
2.3.4 Hero Tiers
Hero Tiers are an additional way to upgrade your heroes. The tiers can be upgraded through
achieving shards (Puzzle piece icon). If you achieve 5 Tiers, the heroes’ star rating will increase,
allowing you to upgrade their skills and increasing their overall power. Hero shards can be
achieved in various ways such as paying, campaign missions, and other events. It is worth noting
that the primary way to achieve an Ultra Rare (UR) hero’s shard is through paying. There is a
chance to get them through recruiting them at the Tavern, though it is unlikely to get the hero
you are gambling for.

troops, garages, and more. This turns resource into more power & stats for everything. Once you
hit level 16, you will receive an option to buy a second tech center. This is highly
recommended.
2.4.5 Gear Factory
The gear factory will allow you to create or dismantle gear for your heroes. You can create any
type of gear currently existing in the game and you can also do the same for dismantling. The
gear factory also allows a player to merge their gear components to craft the Dielectric Ceramic
component, which allows you to create a legendary piece of gear. It is not recommended to
create or level up rare, Super Rare, or Super Super Rare pieces of gear. Once a player has at least
all Super Super Rare (SSR) gear on their first squad heroes, it is recommended to dismantle any
more you get to contribute toward more legendary gear. On average if you paid for the gear, it
would cost you about $50 USD (Excluding certain packs). DO NOT upgrade this past level 10,
as you will be wasting resources and it will NOT provide you with anything. *Until you get to a way higher
level

buildings provide good xp for the resources you use and are efficient to upgrade. Lastly, the
resource protection centers should NEVER be upgraded unless it is a low resource cost and will
give you free arms race points.
2.4.11 Doomsday Domination
This building serves no purpose other than to tell you the future server events. The building
cannot be upgraded. After you click on it, a screen will pop up with a day number on the left-
hand side, and an event on the right-hand side. If you read the event, such as “City Clash I” and
you find correlate the day on the left-hand side of it, you will notice the City Clash event comes
out on Day 5. The day count is X number of days since the server released, not days until the
event.

2.5 Events
2.5.1 Rookie Pass
The rookie pass is a phenomenal start for new players. It provides players with diamonds,
resource chests, recruitment tickets, and hero xp. It is highly recommended to buy the rookie
pass as it is extremely efficient and supplies you with bonus loot, accelerating you further than
almost anything else in the game. Additionally, it contains legendary gear, which would
normally cost you $50 USD.
2.5.2 Daily Progress
The daily progress event is a major growing point, especially for free to play players or low
budget spenders. It provides you with copious amounts of speed ups, energy, recruitment tickets,
and hero xp. Additionally, if you reach 4.5 million power by the end of it, you get additional
legendary gear which is valued at $50 USD. This is another reason why players should
immediately rush to HQ level 15.
2.5.3 Hero’s Trial
The hero’s trial event provides players with an opportunity to claim additional loot if they reach
a certain number of stars on Kimberly and Murphy, with the maximum amount of loot possible
being at 5 stars on both heroes. This event is for pay-to-win players only, as it encourages you to
max the star level of both heroes listed, which can only happen by paying about $1,000.
2.5.4 Secret Mobile Squad
The Secret Mobile Squad is an event in which your heroes perform specific tasks. To do those
tasks, your heroes need to be at the requirement which the game has set. This event is crucial for
both free to play and pay to play players, as it provides very generous loot for no cost at all.
Additionally, you can assist allies with their Secret Tasks, and you will be rewarded with loot,
not stealing it from your allies. Additionally, you can plunder other alliances’ loot, which will
steal resources from their Secret Task.
2.5.5 Arms Race
The arms race is an event which has you do specific upgrades at certain times. The upgrades
involve your heroes, your base, your tech center research, and levelling up your drone. For a free
to play player, the event is important to get a chest from, though do not expect to beat other
players due to players being able to buy packs which will accumulate points for them. A free to
play player should be able to max out the arms race reward almost daily, while a paid to play
player will be able to max out the arms race daily.
2.5.6 Alliance Exercise
The alliance exercise event is where your alliance can attack Marshal’s Guard, and if you reach
the maximum level, you will obtain rewards. It is highly recommended to participate in this
event as it provides great resources and additional rewards. If you participate and become the
MVP, the player with the most damage, you will gain an additional ten times increase in
rewards.

click the button for help from your alliance. This will keep the resource cost the same, however,
it will reduce over 50% of the healing time. This is efficient for keeping your power up and a
constant flow of troops.
4.5 Attacking
When attacking another player, instead of sending your troops to their base, send your troops to
either a zombie, gold mine, or another world-spawned event and then swap to their base before
you hit the world-spawned event. This will allow your troops to march 50% faster and will not
alert the player until you redirect your troops. If you are initiating an alliance war and are strong
enough, teleporting at their alliance will allow you to attack them much faster.
4.6 Check the Doomsday Domination
Many players never check the doomsday domination building. The doomsday domination
building allows you to plan based on what events are coming up. This can be clearing up time,
saving money for heroes to come out, coordinating with your alliance for certain events, and
more.
4.7 Resource Tips
The best way to get resources in the game is attacking other players. While ultimately you want
to focus on future server wars, general peace is never an option. Players are your best resource.
If you accumulate too many resources from players in one day, you will be hit with a 95%
loot decrease. This debuff in the game is incredibly stupid, however, discourages players from
farming players worse than them and stealing all their resources. Aside from players, doing your
radar tasks daily will net you the greatest number of resources from PVE events. Behind this is
alliance events, which can range from mediocre rewards to great rewards which are crucial to
base building. Radar tasks, alliance events, and the campaign missions (game modes listed
above), and secret missions should be completed daily to ensure maximum resources have been
collected.
4.8 Level Tied Chests
A player will need resources from resources or level tied chests eventually. You want to use the
level tied chests as a last resort. The level-tied chests increase a lot with your headquarters level,
which means they provide far better resources if used later rather than sooner. Of course, players
should not hoard them the entire game, but exhaust every resource before touching the level-tied
chests.
5. Future Guides
The creator of this document will release future guides for when Server XXX continues further
past the date of this document’s release. The future guides will be mid-game and late-game
playthroughs, while not being this long as I am not introducing players to new concepts.
Additionally, the creator of this document will release a value to diamonds ratio spreadsheet for
every pack in the game. This will detail how many diamonds each pack is worth and will
determine the most efficient packs in the game, and the least efficient packs in the game with a
breakpoint on whether low budget spender, a spender who can’t resist a good deal, and a high
spender with no limit should buy certain packs or not.
