1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.

In my opinion this is still like the other

millennium development goals which are still in progress, since the Philippines is
still considered a third world country I could definitely say that there are still many
people in poverty.

2. Achieve universal primary education. It was stated here that “all children can complete
a full course of primary education in schools” and honestly I could say that this is
still not achieved it was stated in this article
https://thediplomat.com/2023/02/the-philippines-basic-education-crisis/ that there
are 327,851 school buildings in the country and only 104,536 are in good
condition with this information can we say that with the amount of children there
are in the Philippines every child is having and completing a full course primary
education?

3. Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women. This was in a way achieved
and not, Well you can say it’s in progress since empowering women was already
achieved since they are now given the same rights as a man. While in promoting
gender equality it has not been attained yet because of the LGBTQ community if
they are not given the same rights as a man and a woman then they have not
achieved this yet.

4. Reduce child mortality. It was stated here that it’s goal was to REDUCE and
since in this article
https://www.who.int/data/gho/data/themes/topics/topic-details/GHO/child-mortalit
y-and-causes-of-death#:~:text=Substantial%20global%20progress%20has%20b
een,1990%20to%2038%20in%202021. It was stated that Substantial global
progress has been made in reducing childhood mortality since 1990. The total
number of under-5 deaths worldwide has declined from 12.8 million in 1990 to 5
million in 2021. Since 1990, the global under-5 mortality rate has dropped by
59%, from 93 deaths per 1000 live births in 1990 to 38 in 2021. So I can say that
they have achieved reducing the child mortality rate.

5. Improve Maternal Health

It was stated that MMR in 2021 was thus 189.21 per 100,000 live births
(2,478/1,309,601 x 100,000). Before 2021, the DOH reported the highest number
of maternal deaths at 2,511 in 1952 and 2,645 in 1951, making 2021 the third
deadliest year for childbearing in the Philippines in 69 years and in 2023 our
MMR in the Philippines is 121.00 so I can say that we have improved our
maternal health but we still need to lessen the deaths.
6. Combat HIV
The number of HIV cases is 2,631 cases higher than the 12,339 cases recorded in
2021. The increase in total cases also pushed up the average number of people
diagnosed with HIV a day. In 2022, the DOH said there were 4,377 people diagnosed
with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Knowing this we could say that the number
of people diagnosed with HIV is being lessened.

7. Ensure environmental sustainability

It is stated here
https://sustainability.aboitiz.com/sustainability-in-the-philippines/#:~:text=The%20
Philippines%20placed%20158th%20out,a%20long%20way%20to%20go. “That
the Philippines placed 158th out of 180 countries in the 2022 Environmental
Performance Index in terms of progress toward improving environmental health,
protecting ecosystem vitality, and mitigating climate change, showing that
sustainability in the Philippines has a long way to go.” it means that the
environment in the Philippines is bad and we have to create and maintain good
habits that help our environment.

8. Develop a global partnership for development

According to the International Trade Administration The Philippines and 14 Asia
Pacific countries – Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, South
Korea, Laos, Myanmar, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam –
signed a free trade agreement in 2020 which is expected to enter into force in
2022. Which means that our relationship with other countries are good but
knowing this we still need to ensure a good relationship with other more countries
so that we can maintain a good environment for the improvement of our country
so that Filipinos can have a better lifestyle.
