ITALY

The first country i chose is Italy because of the beautiful places i saw online and i
think that the people there are very kind and welcoming. And i want to know and
learn their way on how to act

Italy has a rich history of theater and performance practices that date back
centuries. Some of the notable performance practices in Italian theater include:

Commedia dell'arte - This is a form of improvisational comedy that originated in

Italy in the 16th century. It is characterized by masked stock characters, such as the
miserly Pantalone, the mischievous Harlequin, and the foolish Doctor.
Experimental theater - Italy has a thriving experimental theater scene that
explores avant-garde techniques, multimedia elements, and immersive experiences.

One of the plays of Italy is “A midsummer’s night dream”

Four Athenians ran away to the forest only to have Puck, the fairy, made both of the
boys fall in love with the same girl. The four ran through the forest pursuing each
other while Puck helped his master play a trick on the fairy queen. In the end, Puck
reverses the magic, and the two couples reconcile and marry.
FRANCE

The next country is France, i chose this because their performances shows different
varieties of emotions and genres like comedy, extreme anger and sadness but most
of the play’s genre is tragedy. Their plays mostly contains fiction and realism. As to
what i’ve noticed, they present theirselves with confidence and the way they dress is
very much elegant, women has their hairs styled in a exquisite way while men mostly
has beards on their face.

Theater in France in the early 16th century, played a mixed fare of moralities,
miracle plays, farces and soties. La Farce de maîrte Panthelin is one of the plays of
France, the genre of this play is all about drama, poverty and political affairs. For this
play, it only contains five characters and it focuses on issues of their environment
and about honesty.

Some of the key theater performance practices of France are Physical Performance
and Political Engagement. Physical Performance contains trained actors regrading
with different techniques such as mime and physical theater. Political Engagement is
where they create plays related to the situations of their environment and society,
and example of this was the play i mentioned earlier “La Farce de maîrte Panthelin”.

additional to this, France’s theater not only contains acting but it also has opera and
ballet.
GERMANY

The last country that i chose is Germany because this beautiful country has many
famous attractions for visitors. Germany has become a favorite destination of many
who love visiting castles, museums and many more. It offers the beauty of Europe
along with the national history, natural beauty, art and culture. Their museums are
also beautiful and have many other activities.

Germany has a rich and diverse theater tradition, with many different performance
practices and styles. Here are a few examples of performance practices in German
theater:

Ensemble Theater: Ensemble theater is a style in which a group of actors work

together closely to develop a production, often over a long period of time. This style
emphasizes collaboration, experimentation, and the development of a shared artistic
language among the ensemble.

Performance Art: Performance art is a form of theater that focuses on the body,
movement, and physical expression. German performance artists like Joseph Beuys
and Marina Abramović have had a significant impact on the development of
performance art as a genre.
One of its plays is "Spring Awakening"

Spring Awakening is a coming-of-age rock musical with music by Duncan Sheik and a
book and lyrics by Steven Sater. It is based on the 1891 German play Spring
Awakening by Frank Wedekind. Set in late 19th-century Germany, the musical tells
the story of teenagers discovering the inner and outer tumult of adolescent sexuality.
In the musical, alternative rock is employed as part of the folk-infused rock score.
