Discuss the role of emotions in behavior at a workplace. Cite examples.

Emotion is a normal thing that we experience day-to-day. It can influence our

decision-making, behavior, and how we treat other people. Good emotional
management can create an advantage over those who let their emotions take
control of them.

Emotions also play a huge role in the workplace. The happiness of the
employees can affect their work output. A boss who’s short-tempered can
manifest negativity to their subordinates, resulting in a toxic environment. It is
important that leaders must know how to regulate their emotions to set an
example for others.

Below are situational examples that showcase how emotions play a huge role
in the workplace:

- A sales lady pretends to not hear her customers.

- The customer left the store pissed and told other people that this
branch has awful customer service.
- The store’s sales dropped

- A leader was angry because of his/her misunderstanding with his/her

executives. In the heat of emotion, he/she violated the confidentiality
bylaws of the organization and leaked the issue to other organizations.
- It resulted in a revocation of the partnership of the other
organizations.

- An employee is not happy with his job.

- That resulted in low quality of service and stressed him more
than it should be.
