Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, J&K Shri Manoj Sinha,

today inaugurated a Mega Job Fair-2024, at
Conven on Centre Canal Road Jammu which was
organised by Directorate of Employment, J&K (on
the sidelines of Youth Enclave organised by
Informa on and Public Rela ons Department). The
Job Fair witnessed an overwhelming response from
Job Seekers as more than 1500 Job Seekers who had
registered online par cipated in the event. 96
candidates were selected on the spot besides 601
candidates were shortlisted for second round on the basis of eligibility and requirements of various
companies.

Around 62 Companies/Employers with 4000 plus

vacancies in diverse sectors were part of this mega
event. Government Departments implemen ng self-
employment schemes also installed stalls at the venue
for the benefit of Job Seekers.

This Job Fair is a mega pla orm for both employers and
job seekers as it provides avenues for both of them as
per their requirements

During interac on the Secretary to Government Labour and Employment, Sh. Kumar Rajeev Ranjan,
IAS, apprised the chief guest about the various ac vi es of the department and objec ves of
organizing such kind of events across the UT.

Director Employment, J&K Shri Ashwani kumar, Deputy
Director Central, Shri Rajneesh Jerath, Representa ves from
Companies, other officers and officials from Department of
Employment were present on the occasion.

Hon'ble Lt. Governor, Sh. Manoj Sinha had a detailed

interac on with the job seekers and also emphasised upon
the unemployed youth to develop entrepreneurship quali es so they may become job providers rather
than job seekers. Worthy Lt. Governor also distributed 09 offer le ers to some job seekers on the spot
besides providing keys to some beneficiaries under Mumkin Scheme.
