II. CURRICULUM CONTENTS

What is writing?
writing is an important form of communication. It allows the students to put their feelings and
ideas in paper to organize knowledge and beliefs into convincing arguments and to convey
meaning through well-constructed text.
What is Writing techniques.?
Writing technique is a style authors use to convey their message in manner that is effective and
meaningful to their readers.
What is informative writing?
It educates the readers by imparting straightforward information, facts, and details on a certain
topic. It gives them a new understanding or new appreciation of some topics which might be
familiar with.

4 types of informative writing

Definition Essay
Provides detailed explanation of an idea. For instance, about love. The writers define love based
on his research or even his personal experiences
Cause and effect Essay
It explains the connection/link up of two or more events.
Opposing Sides Essay
Presents all sides of issue (pros and cons).
The process essay
It is a writing that explains how to do something or how something works by giving a step-by-
step explanation.

3 parts of informative writing


1. introduction
2. Body
3. Conclusion

Introduction
The beginning or the introduction needs to present the topic and grab your readers attention. It
needs to include the focus sentence for the entire essay.
Body

For the body of an informative essay should provide all the necessary information. It has to
piece out fully the lack of information in an issue. As a writer, we must use various sources,
facts and expert judgements, make sure all your facts are accurate and you also have to create an
outline that will organize your facts in a logical way
Conclusion
In conclusion, you should restate about the seriousness of the issue and summarize the facts for
and against the main topic. You should never introduce some new information or ideas in the
conclusion. Its main purpose is to round off your informative essay by summing up.

What is the persuasive writing ?

When we say persuasive writing it is to convince the readers of the validity of the writer’s
argument. It attempts to convince the readers that the point of view of the writer is valid or best.
Usually, it is an opinion supported by evidence and research. It builds arguments on opinion and
factual statements. It tends to make the readers do certain things. Also, it presents arguments
only about one. Persuasive writing intends to convince readers to believe in an idea or opinion
and to do an action. Many writings such as criticisms, reviews, reaction papers, editorials,
proposals, advertisements and brochures use different ways of pursuing funds to influence the
readers.

5 techniques in persuasive writing


1. choose a subject that interests you and that suits your
purpose and audience.

3. , clarify your purpose.
4. , make a draft for your essay
5. , use words that reveal personal judgment or viewpoints.

What is argumentative writing?


So argumentative Aims to change the reader’s mind by convincing him or her to agree with
your point of view or consider your stand arguments.
The main argument presented is elaborated and explained through the presentation of its pros (in
favor) and cons (against) of your position in an issue or topic.
It begins with an introduction and ends with a conclusion. In between are the body paragraph
where you must do the three things: support your opinion, present the opposing point of view,
and tell why that viewpoint is wrong.
