D: Hi, Zara. How was your holiday? Z: Erm … it could have been better, to be honest. D: Oh, dear. Where did you go? Z: We went to the Greek island of Corfu. D: Really? The weather must have been beautiful at this time of year. Z: Well, no, it wasn’t actually. It was awful. We were there for a week and it rained most days. And on two of the days there were terrible thunderstorms – it was so scary! D: Oh, no! Was the hotel nice at least? Z: Well, it depends on who you ask. I quite liked it. There was a disco every night and they played music by the swimming pool during the day. But my parents didn’t like it that much. D: Why didn’t they like it? Z: I think it was too noisy for them and they wished they’d rented a villa. They felt that it would have been much more relaxing if we’d had our own place. D: Yes, but it would have also been much more expensive. Z: Yes, that’s true. Our hotel wasn’t very expensive and it had stunning views of the bay. D: It sounds alright! Did your little brothers enjoy it? Z: Yes, they did. The hotel had a Kids’ Club and they organized lots of fun activities for the children that were staying at the hotel. Sam and Ben made lots of new friends and loved every minute. They never wanted to leave the hotel! D: I suppose little kids don’t need to have perfect weather in order to have a good time on holiday. Z: No, that’s right. D: So, is your family planning to go away again this summer? Z: Yes, my grandparents live in Wales and we’re going to go there for a week at the end of August. D: Well, I hope the weather will be better in Wales than it was in Corfu, so at least you’ll be able to go to the beach. Z: Yes, me, too. The problem is that the weather’s always unreliable in the UK, even in summer. I wish my grandparents lived in France or Spain – somewhere warmer and sunnier. D: Well, if it rains, you’ll be able to visit all those Welsh castles. I’m sure you’ll love that! Z: Yes, I will. So, what about you, Darío? Are you and your family going somewhere nice on holiday? D: Yes, we are. We’re going to Faro for three weeks at the beginning of August. Z: Wow! Lucky you! Just think: in two weeks’ time, you’ll be relaxing on a beach in Portugal. D: Yes, I know. I’m sure it’ll be amazing. I can’t wait! Z: Unless there are storms like we had in Corfu! D: Hmm, well, that’s not impossible, but it isn't common to have storms in August in Portugal. Z: Well, I hope you’re luckier than we were. D: Thanks!
