USE OF LIBARY AND STUDY SKILLS (GST 113)

This course the use of library and study skills are studied to provide effective and efficient
information service that facilitate academic and research work for staff and students.

A library is a backbone of every academic institution especially tetiary institutions and a library have
a comprehensive collecting of hard copy, live resources and access to subscribe academic data.

IMPORTANCE OF LIBRARY

1. Library provides comfortable reading facilities that enable student, workers and researchers to
utilize effectively their study time.

2. Library provides recreational and cultural heritage.

3. Library serves as a respiratory of knowledge from within and outside the institution.

4. Library encourage students to maintain and develop reading habit.

5. Library provides effective reference service to student, staff and researchers.

6. Library is a place with current news, that furnishes newspapers and magazines.

LIBRARY ETHICS

Library have an obligation to provide information services to support educational, recreational,

personal and economic development and growth in every tetiary institutions.

RULES AND REGULATIONS OF LIBRARY It is a use of order and organisation.

1. All library users are to register to the library and show your identity card to the library security
officers to enter the library.

2. Silence prominently required in a library.

3. Library users are expected to comport themselves in a orderly manner.

4. Smoking, sleeping and eating are forbidden in the library.

5. There should be no reservations of sit in the library.

6. All library materials must be treated with great care, every damages or loses f library materials will
be paid for

7. Umbrella, books, brevages, radio, bags and all gadgets must the kept at the bossom of the library.

8.users must submit themselves for inspection at the security post before entering the library.
9. All library book consulted should be left on the table, users should not share books.
