1.

The contest will be participated by a team with 3 members coming from all programs per year
level.
2. The contestants must be enrolled in ZPPSU-Vitali during the academic year 2023-2024.
3. The questions will come from the General Education subjects, world trivia and current events.
4. All contestants will answer the same set of questions in writing either in multiple choice, true or
false or fill in the blanks.
5. Before a question is read, the contestants must raise their markers.
6. Questions will be read twice by the Quizmaster.
7. After the second reading, the Quizmaster shall say "go" --- only then will the contestants be
allowed to write their answer. Automatically, the fifteen (15) second time - limit will begin with
the word "go" by the Quizmaster.
8. After the time limit and the buzzer sounds, the contestants must stop writing and raise their
answer boards.
9. The Quizmaster and facilitators shall read and verify the contestants' answers.
10. There are four (4) rounds in each competition namely: Easy, Average, Difficult and Clincher.
The Clincher round takes place only if there is a tie.
11. In the Easy Round, ten (10) questions will be asked; in the Average Round, ten (10) questions;
in the Difficult Round, five ( 5) questions, and in the Clincher Round, as many questions as
needed to break the tie. The total number of points of the tied contestants will revert back to zero
(0). In the Clincher Round, as many questions will be asked. Each question is assigned five (20)
points. The contestant who first (1st) gets 60 points is declared the Winner.
12. Points are assigned for each question answered correctly: Easy question-2 points, Average
question-5 points, Difficult question-10 points, Clincher question-20 points
13. The top 15 teams with the highest score in the Easy Round will move to the Average Round.The
top 10 teams with the highest score in the average round will move to the difficult round.
14. The contest will be held on September 14, 2023 from 6:00-11:00 PM at the ZPPSU-Vitali Open
Stage.
15. The team must be at the venue 1 hour before the contest for the final briefing and blocking.
16. The team with the highest point at the end of the difficult round will be determined
CHAMPION.
17. All protests should be referred to the Board of Judges immediately, before the Quizmaster reads
the next question.

Team Composition:

Each team consists of a predetermined number of participants, typically ranging from 3 to 5


members.
Teams may represent different departments, organizations, or groups within the university.
Format:

The quiz bowl contest will be conducted in rounds.


Each round consists of a series of questions asked to the teams.
Questions may cover a wide range of topics including but not limited to literature, history,
science, pop culture, current events, and sports.
Question Types:

Questions can be multiple-choice, short answer, or open-ended.


Bonus questions may be included, where teams have the opportunity to earn additional points
by answering related questions.
Moderation:

A moderator will oversee each round and read the questions to the teams.
The moderator's decisions regarding the correctness of answers are final.
Scoring:

Points are awarded for each correct answer.


Incorrect answers may result in deductions or no points awarded, depending on the scoring
system.
Bonus points may be awarded for exceptional performance or sportsmanship.
Timing:
Each round has a predetermined time limit.
Teams must answer questions within the allotted time.
Fair Play:
Teams are expected to demonstrate fair play and sportsmanship throughout the contest.
Cheating or other forms of unfair behavior will result in penalties or disqualification.
Tiebreakers:
In the event of a tie, tiebreaker questions may be used to determine the winner.
Tiebreaker questions are typically more challenging or require a faster response time.
Prizes:
Prizes may be awarded to the winning team or top performers.
Prizes can include certificates, trophies, or other forms of recognition.
Code of Conduct:

All participants are expected to adhere to the university's code of conduct.


Respectful behavior towards fellow participants, moderators, and organizers is mandatory.
Dispute Resolution:
Any disputes or disagreements will be resolved by the contest organizers.
Organizers may consult with moderators and impartial judges if necessary.
Feedback:
Feedback from participants may be solicited to improve future quiz bowl contests.
Suggestions for question topics, format changes, or other improvements are welcome.
These guidelines are intended to ensure a fair, enjoyable, and competitive quiz bowl contest for
all participants. Organizers may modify or expand upon these guidelines as needed to suit the
specific requirements and preferences of their university.
