This Module Course is designed to prepare ship officers and crew in
ensuring maintenance of Safe Operations of vessels through effective identification of hazards, determination of inherent risks in the workplace and managing such risks to lower their impacts onboard various vessels.
Objectives
On completion of this course the participant shall be able to:
1. identify the different types of Hazards present at the workplace;
2. determine the inherent risks of those hazards and its corresponding level; 3. Identify the controls that can be used to manage those risks, 4. Identify the various methods of reducing risks; 5. Understand how such methods could reduce the risks; 6. Understand how to conduct incident investigation to identify root causes; 7. Identify effective corrective and preventive actions that could prevent accidents on board
