juices, sweat, tears, saliva, or milk.
Endocrine glands release the substances
directly into the bloodstream. Exocrine
glands release the substances into a duct or
opening to the inside or outside of the body.
•Hormones are your body's
chemical messengers. They
travel in your bloodstream to
tissues or organs. They work
slowly, over time, and affect
many different processes.

of glands that secrete different
types of hormones that affect
almost every cell, organ, and
function of our body.
•It is essential in regulating
growth and development,
metabolism, as well as
reproductive processes
and mood
•When a hormone in the blood
reaches the target organ, it
produces a notable effect.
•The effects can take a few hours
or even weeks, unlike the
instant responses of nervous
system.
