Family Ties

1. Immediate family: your closest relations, such as your parents, children,


husband or wife: gia đình ruột thịt
Ex: My immediate family are my dad, mum and two brothers.
2. dysfunctional family /dɪsˈfʌŋk.ʃən.əl/ – a family that is not behaving or
working normally, where there is conflict, misbehaviour, etc.:gia đình không yên

3. to be related to – to belong to the same family as: có quan hệ họ hàng
Ex: I’m related to many people in my village as my family has lived here
