INTERVIEW GUIDE QUESTION AND SCRIPT

Introduction:

Good day, thank you for participating in this interview. I’m very appreciative of the consent
form you have signed allowing us to interview you as one of the participants in our study about
“LEVEL OF AWARENESS ON R.A. 8749 AMONG THE RESIDENTS OF KAPALONG: A MIXED
METHOD INVESTIGATION”. In line with this, I will be asking you some queries which are limited to
the questions regarding your awareness of R.A. 8749, how you cope with this awareness, and the
recommendations to help in implementing the R.A. 8749.

Please be informed that this interview is confidential, researchers will not associate the
names of the participants and strongly encourage the use of pseudonyms. The entire conversation
will be documented and will serve as a reference in this study. Responses will remain confidential in
only the researchers will have access including the identity of participants.

I would like to assure you that there is no risk involved in participating in our study and that
there will be no negative consequences if you choose to withdraw or refuse to answer the questions
that we will ask. Finally, please feel free to ask any question about the procedure at any time of the
interview, I will gladly entertain it. I would be very grateful if you could answer each question
appropriately and specifically as possible.

1. What are the experiences of the residents of Kapalong in relation to the


enforcement of R.A. 8749 or the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999?
1.1 What are the significant experiences that you encountered in learning the
different awareness of R.A. 8749?

1.2 How did the enforcement of R.A 8749 affect your consciousness on preserving
the environment?

1.3 What difficulties do you encounter when trying to understand the varying levels of
standards regarding R.A. 8749?

1.4 What coping mechanisms have you found helpful in managing your
understanding of R.A. 8749?

1.5 What coping mechanisms can you employ to work collectively in adapting to
cleaner practices and complying with the regulations of RA 8749?

1.6 What strategies can you use to ensure diverse participation and representation in
environmental initiatives?
2. What insights and recommendations did the residents of Kapalong learn in R.A
8749?
2.1 From your perspective, how does RA 8749 influence environmental practices
within the community?

2.2 Do you think you can do better and influence the community about the
awareness of R.A. 8749 based on what you have learned?
