Who is he?
Dhruva Mistry is an Indian sculptor who was born in Gujarat in 1957. His body of
work includes both large-scale public projects and smaller-scale private
sculptures. Mistry was born in Kanjari, central Gujarat, on January 1, 1957. From
1974 to 1981, she studied sculpture at the M. S. University of Baroda's Faculty of
Fine Arts, and from 1981 to 1983, she received a British Council Scholarship to
study at the Royal College of Art in London. He had a fellowship at Churchill
College, University of Cambridge, and was Artist in Residence at Kettle's Yard
Gallery in Cambridge in 1984–1985. This position was made possible by a
relationship with the Arts Council. Dhruva was elected a member of the Royal
Academy of Arts in 1991 and represented the United Kingdom in the Third Rodin Grand
Prize Exhibition in Japan in 1990. He was named primary artist for the Victoria
Square Sculptures by Birmingham City Council in 1992–1993. In 1993, he was
recognised as a Fellow of the London-based Royal Society of British Sculptors.
Analysing
In this work, we can see he has abstractly made a woman, as I can see, how is
laying on her back with here hands touching her forehead.
