Despite the relative effectiveness of global governance since its inception following

World War II, the volume and complexity of issues on the worldwide agenda are increasing

faster than national governments and international organizations can handle. (Boon & Huq,

2012) The Philippines is responsible for easing the tensions that come from worldwide issues.

There are two ways in which the Philippines can execute its commitment to participating in

global governance.

In order to effectively engage in global governance, we must use the people's voices to

promote collaboration, resolve conflicts, and lessen upcoming issues. According to Niblett

(2019), the Philippines should rely on its people, such as its citizens, private sectors, and

political actors, to help resolve its shared challenges. Regions, communities, and corporations

will not only be recipients of government policies but will also act as partners in promoting

solutions. By making their people better informed, politically aware, and digitally connected,

citizens and civil society can mobilize individually and collectively toward common policy goals.

They can also significantly address complex issues like resource overconsumption, rising health

costs, and climate change.

Fostering regional cooperation, such as participating in ASEAN initiatives, is another

effective way to participate in global governance. According to Baek (2023), the benefit of

participating in ASEAN initiatives is that it has gained much from its integration into the global
economy, especially in commerce. Growing threats of geoeconomic disintegration have the

potential to undo some of the benefits of globalization over the previous few decades. In this

regard, strengthening the list of ASEAN member states' regional integration could make the

region more resilient to outside forces.

In conclusion, in the face of increasingly complicated global concerns, the Philippines

must be critical in reducing tensions and promoting cooperation. Through digital connectedness,

political awareness, and education, the Philippines can let its inhabitants pool their collective

wisdom and resources to tackle common concerns. Furthermore, enhancing regional

collaboration via programs such as ASEAN can increase the Philippines' ability to withstand

external challenges and foster economic growth. The Philippines may actively participate in

global governance through these proactive approaches and help create a more equitable and

fair world.
