RESEARCH PLAN
The main objective of this study is to maintain the taste and proteins inside the
banana and enchanted it's shelf life and quality as well as create a healthy
environment to us and avoid using dangerous preservatives. The benefits are it is
more cheaper than commercial preservatives, it is more safe to use than the one
than we can do on market since all of its components are natural, and lastly to
consume an healthy Latundan banana and to avoid getting disease involved with
commercial preservatives.
The reason we want to conduct this study is to prove this idea is beneficial for the
local community and lessen the problems about the rotting of banana and the high
refusal waste of banana every year here in Cadiz. The most common problems in
commercial preservatives are the hazardous chemical that they consist that can lead
to chemical reactions and sometimes can cause cancer to us.
● Goals/Expected Outcomes/Hypotheses
The study aims to formulate goals and expected outcomes related to Latundan banana, a
highly fruit that being planted here in Cadiz City.
● Procedures
Experimental design will be used in this study. The amount of preservatives will be set as an
independent variable, shelf life and quality of banana as dependent variable and types of
variety of plant, time of applying the solution will be the control variables.
This study indicates the process of how the independent variable is able to enhance and
extend the shelf life and quality of banana. This study involves the pigment Extraction
method this will ensure that the flavonoids and the aratiles flesh to separate each other.
Flavonoids are the one who is responsible for enhancing the shelf life of banana, it is safe to
use than the one they use on commercial preservatives. When the flavonoids and the flesh
are separated then the pigment will be put on the spray bottle then spray it on the Latundan
for about 3 treatment for every 1 week.
