NAME OF THE WORK : Provision of rail net infrastructure in field offices / Depots of
Electrical TRD of SC Division

ALLOCATION : RRSK
APPROXIMATE COST : Rs. 0.46 Crores

JUSTIFICATION : Presently, at the TRD Depots viz., KI, BKL, MTMP, NKD,
JMKT, ALER, MLY, KRMR, BIDR, MTPI & KZJ rail net connection is
not available. Implementation of online modules is not possible without
proper internet connectivity.

As per Railway Board policy, it is to implement online modules

line e-office, UDM, TDMS WCMS & HRMS.

Provision of rail net to these depots with latest technology GPON,

a fiber-optic network solution which ensures efficient data transmission
and has the potential to significantly enhance internet connectivity
involving the installation of fibre-optic cables, Optical Line Terminals
(OLTs), Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) and other necessary
networking equipment. This fibre-optic technology provides a more
efficient data transmission, improving overall network performance
ensuring the efficiency in day-to-day working over web-based
applications like e-office, UDM, TDMS WCMS & HRMS.

In view of the above, it is proposed in PH-3600 for provision of

railnet infrastructure in TRD field offices / depots over the SC Division
at an approximate cost of Rs. 46.23 Lakhs.
