TYPE
Spain, formally Kingdom of Spain, is a transcontinental
sovereign country, constituted as a social and
democratic state of law and whose form of
government is the parliamentary monarchy. It is one of
the twenty-seven sovereign states that make up the
European Union.

LOCATION
The Iberian peninsula is located at the
southwestern end of the European continent:
between the Atlantic Ocean and the
Mediterranean Sea, between Europe and
Africa, between the temperate area of the
planet and the subtropical

CITIES
Spain is part of the European Union and is in
the northern hemisphere. Some of its most
prominent cities include Madrid, Barcelona,
Seville and Valencia. Its landmarks include the
Puerta del Sol, the Sagrada Familia, the
Alhambra and the Plaza Mayor.

LANDMARKS
Spain is known for its capital, Madrid, its
mountains of the Pyrenees and the Sierra
Nevada, its diversified economy and its coast full
of beaches. It is stable and friendly for tourists,
with a rich history and archaeological sites such
as the Roman ruins in Mérida or the prehistoric
sites in Altamira

inhabitants, Spain has a vibrant culture and
an active university life, with outstanding
universities such as the Complutense University
of Madrid and the University of Barcelona.
