Presentation of Data
The raw data of the marks obtained by all four groupings are shown below.

ANALYSIS OF DATA
When analysing the data, our group decided to calculate the pass rate, the mean and the range
for each grouping.
The formulae used here are
number of students passing the English test
Pass Rate = × 100
number of students ∈the sample
Mean =
∑ of all values
number of values
Science 10 66.7
× 100
15
Technical/Vocational 7 46.7
× 100

Calculations of Mean
For the Modern Studies grouping
= 70.2 %
= 53.8 %
= 63.1 %
12 | P a g e
Page 13
= 47.7 %

These calculations are then put in a tabular form so comparisons and similarities
can be readily seen.

Discussion Of Findings
Based on both the presentation and analysis of the data, the members
of our group came up with the following findings.
The range of marks was the same for both the Business Studies
and the technical grouping.

Page 16
Conclusion
Having the highest pass rate and mean, the members of our group
totally agreed that the students in the Modern Studies grouping have
performed much better than their colleagues in the other subject
grouping.
