their children’s childhood with their children.
- In working-mother families, there are
mother-child barriers. Children and their
mothers are not close-knit.

they may feel a bit lonely and may seek
enjoyment by engaging in unhealthy activities
for a long period of time such as watching TV
or playing computer games.

money but have a mother at home?
- The children will be closer with their mother,
they can share everything in their life and
receive useful advice instantly from the
mother.
- The mother can completely spend all her time
and energy focusing on her children because
she doesn’t need to worry about deadlines or
work-related stress.
=> Foster the connection between mothers and
children.

c) Why is the number of single mothers

increasing nowadays?
- The high rates of divorce and non-marital
childbearing lead to the increase in the number
of single mothers.
- Some women want to have children but they do
not want to have husbands and take care of
their husband’s sides.
- With financial pressures and stress in modern
society, many couples have disagreements and
conflicts, which lead to rise divorce and the
number of single mothers.

Room 3
1. Many mothers today work and are away from
home all day. How does this affect her and her
family?
Negative effects:
- Lack of mother figure can cause a barrier
between mother and kids
- Sometimes unexpected illnesses of
children may cause working moms some
difficulties in handling.
- Children may have less access to
healthful foods because their mother is
so busy that she does not have enough
time to make meals for the entire family.
Consuming too much junk food, as a
result, can lead to childhood obesity.
Positive effect
- The employment status of mothers helps
families through increasing family income,
encouraging more disciplined work
behavior among children, and enhancing
the structure of family routines → share
the housework, for example.

2. Would it be better for the family to have less

money but have the mother at home?
In fact, sure. In a family with parents and children,
the mother's role is critical because "women make it
home." Mothers can best nurture their children, and
they may even make money while being at home,
thanks to the advancement of technology and
computer-based occupations these days. A family's
finances may be restricted, but the development of
their children is prioritized since children are the
prospective generation for the advancement of a
nation. As a result, a family with a mother at home is
preferable to one in which the parents are solely
concerned with money and overlook their children's
healthy growth.
3. Why is the number of single mothers increasing
nowadays?
Because of the advancement of technology, an
increasing number of women are choosing not to
marry or become single moms. The primary causes of
single parent families are high divorce rates and
non-marital childbearing. People have grown more
open-minded in the present day, and they are
prepared to divorce if they are not in an imagined
marriage or have children during the cohabitation
before marriage. This has resulted in an increase in
the number of single mothers today.

Room 4
1. Many mothers today work and are away from
home all day. How does this affect her
and her family?
Being a working mother can have an impact on the entire
family. In terms of finances, the working mom can earn a
higher salary to cover her family's living expenses. However,
this accelerating trend may result in less time spent bonding
with family members. This situation leaves the mother with
little time to provide adequate care for their children, which
can lead to family disconnection or a lack of warmth.

2. Would it be better for the family to have less

money but have the mother at home?
In many cases, if the mother chooses to stay at home and
devote time to caring for their family, there will be a
significant financial burden, which can lead to conflicts and
quarrels between the parents. As a result, these serious
family issues may result in disconnection or even divorce. In
this case, a good work-life balance can help alleviate financial
concerns, embrace equality in the family, and allow the
mother to best nurture their children.
3. Why is the number of single mothers
increasing nowadays?
Lone parenthood has become more prevalent in recent years
for a variety of reasons. Unexpected pregnancy is one of the
most common causes, especially among women in their early
twenties due to premarital sex and a lack of birth-control or
contraception guidelines. Furthermore, unlike in previous
decades when there was a bias toward widow mothers, women
can now choose to leave their husbands if he is abusive or
neglects family care. In many cases, women can be financially
self-sufficient to live independently with their child without
relying on their male counterpart.

QUESTIONS
1.

Coping with Do you think that life would be dull without

stress stress?
-Yes, of course, without stress , our life would be
dull and tedious. STress creates flavors, ups and
downs and opportunities which help you mature
and become stronger no matter what situation.
-Stress as a leverage to put yourself to develop
and improve mindset and adaptability.
2. In what ways does stress affect our health
and life?
-Stress affects both mental and physical health.
+ if you are constantly under stress, you have
physical symptoms like high blood pressure,
headache, and problem with sleep
+ Cause you to behave differently than you would
normally like : you are more outward anger, isolate
social interaction, more arguments.

3. Some people blame modern life for the

increasing amount of stress we suffer. What is
your point of view?
I agree.
-People have a tendency to spend so much time
of their lives on the treadmill of a work
existence. As standards of productivity are
rising, people are expected to do more work as
compared to previous days in order to secure a
decent job. Inevitably, they will be snowed
under with workload and do not have enough
time to relax. As a result, they can not manage
their work-life balance and suffer stress.
- Another reason is that education in the world
today has become more difficult than in the
past. For example, many adults have to study
less than their children nowadays. Therefore,
the older have a better lifestyle than the
younger because there is no need for them to
cope with study stress.
-

Room 2

1. Do you think that life would be dull without

stress?
- Yes, stress adss flavors, challenges and
opportunities to change our life. Life would be
uninteresting and unexciting without stress.
- Stress sometimes also brings us a wide range of
memories when we recall.
- Stress can be considered as a motivation for us
to keep moving forward and bettering ourselves.

2. In what ways does stress affect our health and

life?
- Stress has profound influences on both our
physical and mental health.
+ Physical health: Stress causes headaches,
stomachs, high blood pressure, chest pain…
+ Mental health: People who are diagnosed with
stress may suffer from panic attacks, emotional
problems, autism, anxiety and depression.
+

3. Some people blame modern life for the increasing

amount of stress we suffer. What is your point
of view?
- Modern life is one of the worrying reasons why
more people suffer from stress. Modern life
brings people many worries and anxiety including
finance, self-development, work or study.

With the development of the modern society, the

skillful and high work requirements require
workers to always update themselves, they
suffer from boss and college pressure and
work-life balance.

- Although modern life causes numerous stresses,

we can completely eliminate it by implementing
some effective methods such as: set achievable
goals and prioritize your tasks, create a daily plan
or to-do list,...

Room 3
1. Do you think that life would be dull without
stress?
→ I'm also unsure whether it's true or not. Personally,
I believe that, while stress makes us exhausted and
puts us under a lot of pressure in life, knowing how to
deal with it makes life more fascinating and motivates
you to try harder. Nothing is overwhelming if we keep
our heads down and keep moving forward.
2. In what ways does stress affect our health and
life?
In both 2 ways:
Physical:
- Stress lowers the immunity of individuals and
they make people susceptible to many different
infections. For example headache, stomach or
high blood pressure
Mental:
- Stress also leads to emotional problems,
depression, panic attack or other forms of
anxiety and worry.

3. Some people blame modern life for the increasing

amount of stress we suffer. What is your point of
view?
→ Personally, I believe that viewpoint is valid mainly
for those who do not know how to deal with their
problems. Modern life cannot be ignored as a source of
constant stress, but as you are aware, there are
numerous effective methods for reducing and limiting
it. Time management, planning for key tasks, and
allocating time wisely are some of the most positive
answers.

Room 4:

1. Do you think that life would be dull without

stress?

—> It is perhaps true. This is because stress

management has become a vital skill in our lives. I think
without depression there would be no challenges for us
to conquer. Consequently, we would become lazy and have
weak willpower. By contrast, when we ought to handle
stress, it can create room for us to be patient and have
a strong-willed spirit because it can foster motivation
and needs for us to complete all the assignments and
work. Hence, you tend to get ready to work, study and
avoid procrastination as much as possible.

2. In what ways does stress affect our health

and life?
=> Stress is an inevitable problem in life and if we don't
know how to overcome it, it will be a killer at any time.
Firstly, stress affects our health, it makes us fall into a
state of overthinking, anxiety, and gradually becoming
depressed. Another thing, stress causes us to fall into bad
things like alcohol, or stimulants, .... In addition, many
diseases will also appear such as chronic headaches, chest
pain, high blood pressure, ...
Secondly, stress affects our lives, if we are stressed, it
will be difficult for us to control ourselves, therefore, it is
easy to cause unnecessary problems such as fighting,
quarreling,... Also, we will isolate ourselves from society,
which will make us more likely to get caught up in negative
thoughts. As stress persists, we become increasingly angry
with others, making relationships worse.

3. Some people blame modern life for the increasing

amount of stress we suffer. What is your
point of view?

I totally agree with this statement due to some

reasons.

- People are overloaded with too much work.

In modern life, we’re trying to do too much, too fast.
To balance between social interactions, family time,
travel and exercising is an overwhelming duty for us.
Especially being continuously online in the technology
age occupies most of our time and makes it hard for us
to finish the priorities.
- Lack of exercising
The lack of exercise can make you feel restless and
lead to increased stress levels. Physical activities such
as walking and running are a key stress-release
mechanism, but with the rise of office jobs, we are
often lacking the time and opportunity to exercise.

- Pollution
Due to the development of technology, the number of
factories and vehicles on street are increasing
everyday, which leads to not only air pollution but also
noise and visual pollution. These kinds of pollution
affect both our physical and mental health, causing
stress and anxiety. According to a study on air
pollution, air pollutants have been found to be
associated with increased perceived stress.
