and fulfilment. Your unwavering dedication to transforming India into a developed nation is an inspiring

In this journey of the nation’s progress, the J M Baxi group focuses its energies on the ports and
maritime sector. For a little over a century, through creations spanning terminals, marine services, cruise
terminals, shipping, heavy logistics, and technology, our conglomerate has woven an intricate web of
infrastructure, fostering seamless business within and beyond the port community. Through operations
in diverse projects, we have acquired a deep understanding and specialized skills in recognizing and
cultivating opportunities that make substantial contributions to India’s vision and objectives.

The maritime realm, with various government projects, emerges as a cornerstone of our nation’s growth.
The ministry of shipping’s foresight extends to the operationalisation of 23 waterways by 2030 and more
than 400 projects identified all amounting to a total of us 113 Billion Dollar investment, is a testament to
the profound potential that lies in India’s vast maritime network. The potential impact on job creation is
astonishing, with the Sagaramala project projected to generate 1 crore new jobs, including 40 lakh direct
positions, over the next decade.

J M Baxi group has always strived to facilitate the nation building and our commitment goes beyond doing
business. Visakha Institute of Port Management (VIPM) is one such initiative fostered, and an institute
established for 13 years by the J M Baxi group. VIPM understands the gap in academic qualifications

Classes
Following a five-day week program, our
classes are conducted from monday to
friday that seamlessly integrate theory
and practical sessions.

Methodology
Our lectures are thoughtfully fortified with
engaging group discussions, insightful
case studies, and interactive workshops,
ensuring a comprehensive and stimulating
learning experience. Learn from industry
leaders through guest lectures, gaining
valuable real-world insights.
Our programs also include hands-on
training within the company premises.
We also facilitate visits to relevant
organisations and companies across
various fields, providing valuable industry
exposure for our students. Immersion
visits to other terminals and understanding
operations allow you to grasp the broader
scope of the industry firsthand.
Examinations
For effective student progress tracking,
evaluations will take place on a monthly
basis throughout the course. Engage in
a hands-on capstone project, where
you’ll apply your learning to a real-world
scenario. The course concludes with a
comprehensive final examination.
Attendance requirement
Daily class participation is mandatory.
To ensure academic progress, students
must maintain a minimum attendance
of 90%. Non compliance may result in
ineligibility to participate in the final
examination.
Adherence to the institute’s rules and
regulations is of utmost importance.
Dedicated attendance is a fundamental
expectation for all students.

I’m Jishnu Bose, a proud VIPM graduate from the

Equipment Operators course, even though I had no

The training sessions are very informative and I
took training in Operations Management. We used
to have theory classes about Port Management
and Operations for the first few months and later
we were given practical knowledge about the

also used to have language classes for Hindi and
English and the sessions helped us to bring the
