Psychopedagogy 1

Protocol Friday, September 22nd

We started the class by talking about honesty and how the environment deeply
influenced this concept through our growth; each student shared an anecdote
regarding this topic, and then the teacher proceeded to link those to the class topic.
She began talking about Bronfenbrenner´s ecological systems theory, which states
that the individual's mindset will be deeply influenced by the environment that
surrounds him; 5 systems integrate this theory:

1. Microsystem: People who establish direct contact with the individual (family,
school, pairs)
2. Mesosystem: The relations made between the first groups.
3. Extosystem: People and issues that affect the individual's life but don't have a
direct relationship with it.
4. Macrosystem: Describes social and cultural factors that may affect the
individual's development
5. Chronosystem: The stage of life that the individual is in regarding the
situations they’re going through.

Afterward, it was explained Erik Erikson's theory of psychosocial development,

involving 8 stages where the subject faces an identity crisis; if the crisis is faced in a
successful way it will give the person certain abilities that will facilitate their social
interactions.
These stages are:
● Trust vs. Distrust: between 0 and 1 years old.
● Autonomy vs. Shame: between 1 and 3 years old.
● Initiative vs. Guilt: between 3 and 5 years old.
● Industry vs. Inferiority: between 6 and 12 years old.
● Identity vs. Confusion: between 14 and 19 years old.
● Intimacy vs. isolation: between 20 and 40 years old.
● Generativity vs. Stagnation: between 40 and 50 years old.
● Integrity vs. Despair: 60 years old and up.
