Committee: Historic UNSC

Topic: Cuban Missile Crisis

Position: The United Arab Republic

The United Arab Republic perceives the Cuban Missile Crisis as an immensely serious and dangerous
scenario that might lead to a devastating nuclear war between the Soviet Union and the United
States. We Being the Soviet Union's ally and partner, we bolster up with their right to self-defense
against the US. We also hold up against NATO's blatant military aggression and supremacy in the
area.

We condemn the trade bar barrier and the persistent efforts of the US administration to tumble
legitimate government of Cuba by deeds such as the invasion of the Bay of Pigs.

In Cuba, the arrangement of Soviet nuclear missiles is an intelligible curb to prevent future US
interventionism in the region.

However, The UAR acknowledges, the high risks at intimidating tactics and calculation error risks
which might result in a nuclear confrontation. This conflict could lead to a catastrophic effect for the
whole globe, including the Arab world. We entreat the two countries to seek a diplomatic resolution
using a medium of peaceful dialogue.

The UAR is inclined to severe as a trust worthy middle party to act as a peace maker between the US
and USSR. This initiative is in regard to deplete the crisis. This action showcases our honest efforts
during 1956 Suez Crisis as proposed in the UNSC Resolution 119.

We propose the following solutions:

• A spontaneous ceasefire and suspension of any further military organization in the region by
both parties as per UNSC Resolution 156.
• The establishment of a hotline to avoid misinterpretation between Washington and Moscow.
• Both Turkey and Cuba should initiate A mutual withdrawal of nuclear offensive weapons,
which would be overseen by the UN.
• The US must guarantee to forgo from interfering in regard to Cuban sovereignty as per UNGA
resolution 1514.
• Normalization of diplomatic ties between the US and Cuba.

It is massively destructive for the world to bear a nuclear conflict over a mere island which leads to a
catastrophic humanitarian price. In reason to resolve this situation by moral lines and diplomatic
diplomacy all parties must be willing to compromise under the direction of the UNSC. The United
Arab Republic is prepared to support and assist with all sincerity for diplomatic endeavors.
