Provide Housekeeping Services Under housekeeping services NC II

Introduction:

This Module deals with the skills and the knowledge required to provide
housekeeping services to guest within the tourism industry.

This Module also provides a glimpse on the duties and responsibilities of the
different position under the housekeeping department.

RELATIONSHIP OF HOUSEKEEPING TO TOURISM

-Housekeeping Department ,having a broad set of duties and responsibilities falls under
both cores of the hospitality and tourism industry which are lodging and food services

-Some people might think that housekeeping is only limited to maintain a hotel room clean,
However ,Housekeeper are also responsible on the Cleanliness of the different
restaurants,cafes,bars ad other areas. Thats why it’s role in the tourism industry is very
important.

-The reputation of an establishment could be made or broken by the housekeeping

department this in turn could affect the tourism sector of a particular place and is
especially damaging to a location which only started getting attention from tourist through
social media reputation of establishment These days are vulnerable

-All it takes is just one angry online post or negative review from a guest critizing an
establishment and writing about his/her experience regarding a dirty room or lousy
customer services. Thus guest would avoid visiting then the said establishment.

For Tourism;

-Most of the guest when they come to to a place they stay in the hotel to feel
comfortable and the first thing that they would like to have is a clean and comfortable
bed. A room that looks attractive and Appetizing or enticing then to sleep.

Therefore, if once failed as per housekeeping is concerned then we are driving away the
guest.
