Introduction

In this Project, the importance of the reception department in a hotel establishment

and what its protocols are in times of pandemic will be made known. The reception
department is the heart of the hotel business. In general, it is the place from where
the number of available rooms is controlled, guests are registered, reservations are
made, and rooms are assigned.

In addition, the reception also performs different functions, such as controlling,

coordinating, managing and providing different services to customers.
1. For you, how important is the Reception Department in a Hotel
establishment?

It is very important within a hotel as it is the business card of the hotel

establishment in the eyes of its customers. ... It is the center of operations and
administrative procedures for the registration, entry and exit of clients.

2. In this video, has the receptionist given a good service?

Personally, I think that, if you have given an excellent service, since I express it
every point that tourists want to know, the structure of a hotel is a very important
issue to know and, in this video, you have all the questions answered.

3. What are the protocols of the reception department right now in times
of pandemic?

At the reception you will have: Disinfectant gel, disinfectant solution or spray with
70% alcohol, Masks, Disposable gloves, Moist wipes with alcohol, Cotton wipes
with alcohol, Disposable tissues and specific Dumpsters for the elimination of
hazardous waste, with activated lid with pedal.

Objective: reduce physical contact between guests and Reception officials in order
to prevent the risks of COVID-19 transmission.

Scope: guests and external clients, receptionists, bellboys, night auditor, reception
manager, logistics assistants.

Use of personal protective equipment PPE: the members of the Reception and
Logistics teams must wear a mask during the entire working day and a protective
mask in hotels that do not have acrylic divisions in Reception counters.
Receptionists must handle guest documents using gloves that must be discarded
after each interaction. Bellboys must handle guests' luggage with gloves that must
be discarded after each interaction. PPE is for personal use.

Disinfection of the work area and tools.

Conclusion
In conclusion we can say that the reservation and reception department in a hotel
or non-hotel establishment constitutes one of the most important parts when
offering the services related to the arrival and departure of clients as well as
controlling, coordinating, managing and providing different services during the
permanence of the guests within the facility. We can consider the reception as the
core of a hotel establishment, because it represents the image of the hotel as it is
the first place that guests have contact.
