Insight Paper in Prof Ed 6

Since the first day of my second year in college, I have learned a lot from our subject

Prof Ed 6 with the help of our very kind and understanding professor Sir. Lyndon Ibarra. He

did not only teach us about the topics included in the syllabus, he also teaches us life lessons

and at the same time motivated us to just do whatever we want in our life and pursue things

with passion and dedication, and to not give up in achieving our goals.

When we are in class and having a discussion, I learned lot of things that a future

educator needs to know. We tackled about how does a grading system works, which is very

important to know as a future educator because you will eventually will need it in assessing

your students’ grades. Different types of assessment like formative, summative, diagnostic,

placement, criterion-based, norm-based, and ipsative assessment are also discussed to us, also

the assessment for learning which is given at the end of every topic or lesson, assessment as

learning which can be seen as a self-reflection, and assessment of learning that is given at the

end of a grading period or unit. Institutional outcomes, Program outcomes, and course

outcomes are the different types of learning outcomes, these are the learning outcomes

students’ and teachers’ needs to see after the discussion of topic, end of the program, or end

of the course.

Making objectives under different domains of learning and constructing good

objectives with right words had also been discussed to us. I learned about variety of assessing

instruments that I can use to assess my students learning when I continue to pursue the course

bachelor of education.

Our meetings and classes in our subject Prof Ed 6 have been very full of lessons and

knowledges that I can really use in my future career as a educator.
