Introduction

"RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS v2" incorporates a new logic for enroute turbulence (CAT)
compared to the previous version, while adding support to terrain turbulence!
Enroute turbulence, is not linked and limited to SIGMET's CAT or TS areas in this version 2 of
RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS! Instead the actual wind in the simulator, at the aircraft's
position, is analyzed for any wind shifts / variations thus inducing the turbulence effects to more
realistic positions (eg. where wind direction and / or speed changes). This allows to open the envelope
to a global level instead of being limited to SIGMET's CAT or TS areas!

Terrain turbulence feature is also added in this version, extending the RealTurb turbulence effects also
to lower altitudes, when flying near terrain (with wind blowing from the terrain direction).
An approach with wind direction being from the terrain side will now feel different compared to the
approach with wind direction being from the sea or relatively flat ground.

Features include:
- Global coverage
- Turbulence effects based on wind vs terrain analysis, wind variations and speed.
- Realistic (custom made) turbulence effects
- Custom made turbulence sound (linked to aircraft's G Load)
- Easy installation and usage (Just install and forget - RealTurb will auto load when the simulator starts)
- No user input/setup required for the effects to work. All is analyzed automatically!
- Settings Dialog to control effects strength / altitude envelope / sounds / sounds G-Load thresholds
if the user wants to change default values.
- Option for parameters to be saved as aircraft title specific
System Requirements
Hardware
There are no additional system requirements to run "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS v2"
other than the ones required to run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and/or the ones required to
run your add-ons.

Software
- Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) required

Installation
Make sure you uninstall any previous versions of "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS" before
installing this version.

To install simply run RealTurb_CAT_Areas_Global_v2.0.1_MSFS.exe (using administrator rights)

and follow the on-screen instructions.

Default "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS v2" path will be your:

"Documents\RealTurb\RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS"

however you can choose any path you want during the installation process.

Uninstallation
If you need to uninstall "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS v2", please use the ADD/REMOVE
PROGRAMS item in your Windows Control Panel.

Also make sure you backup your "Settings" folder found in "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS"
folder, before uninstalling, if not empty, to avoid having to recreate any aircraft title specific profiles
created using the "Save Aircraft Profile" option.

NOTE: RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS v2 should automatically start when you load the simulator.
A system tray icon should confirm that RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS v2 is successfully
connected to the simulator. In the unlikely event that system tray icon is not present after the simulator
is loaded, you can manually load the application from it's folder.
Settings
By right clicking on "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS v2" system tray icon and selecting
"Settings" option, the following settings dialog appears, where (default) parameters can be changed!

Next page, explains each of these parameters in greater detail....

[Effects]

Enroute Turbulence Scalar (Range: 20% - 150% : Default value is 100)

Terrain Turbulence Scalar (Range: 20% - 150% : Default value is 100)

These parameters represent the overall turbulence effects strength as a percentage.

20 means 20% strength of the calculated turbulence effects where as 150 means 150%
strength of the calculated turbulence effects (Provided a limit is not reached).
Enroute Scalar will affect turbulence from wind variations where as Terrain Scalar
will affect turbulence from terrain.

Effects Minimum Altitude (Possible values 200 or more : default value is 200)

This parameter represents the altitude in ft (above ground), below which RealTurb effects
are inhibited.

[Sounds]

Turbulence Sounds (Possible values: 0, 1, 2 : default value is 1)

Turbulence Sounds Disabled: (Value=0) Sound Set 1: (Value=1) Sound Set 2: (Value=2)

Note: Turbulence sounds are disabled for light aircrafts with gross weight below 10 tonnes.

G-Load for "lighter" turbulence (Range: 85 - 95 : Default value is 95)

Value divided by 100, representing the aircraft's G-Load threshold, where "lighter" turbulence
sound triggers. Eg. A value of 95, means 95/100=0.95g - Below 0.95g this sound triggers.

G-Load for "heavier" turbulence (Range: 75 - 95 : Default value is 85)

Value divided by 100, representing the aircraft's G-Load threshold, where "heavier" turbulence
sound triggers. Eg. A value of 85, means 85/100=0.85g - Below 0.85g this sound triggers.

[Aircraft Specific Options]

Save Aircraft Profile

Contrary to the "Save and Reload" option, where parameters are saved to the default ini file and used
for all aircrafts, using "Save Aircraft Profile" option, parameters will be saved using the aircraft's title and
will be type/livery specific. In this case parameters are saved within
RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS\Settings folder using the aircraft's title as the name of the ini file
to be created. This can be done for as many aircraft titles as required and RealTurb CAT Areas Global
for MSFS v2, upon loading or after changing aircraft in MSFS, will check in the Settings folder for a
profile matching the aircraft title to load the parameters from. If no profile is found, then parameters from
the default ini file (RealTurb_CAT_Areas_Global.ini) will be loaded.
Reset Aircraft Profile

If for an aircraft title you wish to revert to the parameters from the default ini file instead of the aircraft
title specific ini file, while loaded with that aircraft title, selecting "Reset Aircraft Profile" will delete the
specific title's ini file from the "Settings" folder and by selecting "Save and Reload" will load the
displayed parameters and save them to the default ini file. (RealTurb_CAT_Areas_Global.ini).

Reset All Profiles

"Reset All Profiles" option will delete all aircraft title specific profiles (all files found in
RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS\Settings folder) and again by selecting "Save and Reload" will
load the displayed parameters and save them to the default ini file. (RealTurb_CAT_Areas_Global.ini).

Caution: After resetting an aircraft profile or resetting all profiles, make sure you update the parameters
before selecting "Save and Reload" to avoid overwriting the default ini parameters with the aircraft's title
specific ones that were loaded before the resetting of the profiles.

Reset Default Values

This option does not load values from the default ini file (RealTurb_CAT_Areas_Global.ini).
Instead it resets the values in the Settings dialog to the default values and the user has to either save
them to the specific aircraft title by selecting "Save Aircraft Profile" or save them to the default ini for
use by all aircrafts, by selecting "Save and Reload".

Note: By selecting "Save and Reload" or "Save Aircraft Profile" parameters have an immediate effect
without the need to restart the simulator or RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS v2!
