A Formal Letter

I represent a group called SST, which stands for Stop Stupid Things. We are concerned about
the plans to build a motorway instead of the park which is the favorite place of hundreds of
children.
In our opinion the motorway would be a bad idea because the people who chose to live in our
town moved here because of the silence. They do not need cars speeding under their windows
while they want to relax. Also, there are many children living here. It would be very
dangerous for them to wander around on the streets.
A park is better because it is a place not only for children, but for families to go to when they
have some free time. And we need this town to stay green. We need the trees to keep the
atmosphere.
We have therefore decided to take action and we are going to organize a protest. We will go
around the streets and hand out flyers to everybody. We hope that you understand why we are
doing this.
