Entry Requirements:
Before entering on the programme candidates require 12 months sea service on foreign going vessels
more than 80GRT and 24m LOA whilst holding an OOW (unlimited) Certificate of Competency
It is the responsibility of candidates to ensure that all entry requirements for the course and the
issue of a Notice of Eligibility (NoE) by the MCA are met prior to attending the course.
For sea time assessment a candidate may log onto the MCA’s web site www.mcga.org.uk
Course Dates:
*4th September 2023 - 22nd December 2023 will be remote learning, classroom studies will begin from 8th
January 2024
*2nd January 2024 – 29th March 2024 will be remote learning, classroom studies will begin from 22nd April
2024
*15th April 2024 – 26th July 2024 will be remote learning, classroom studies will begin from 2nd September
2024
Course Fees:
MCA Notice of Eligibility fee £220 – set by external agency and is subject to change
Course Outline:
**The delivery of the above units will/may be via on line teaching for
the first 3 months (Allowing 3+6 scheme for shorter visa duration)**
*HELM (M) and Medical Care on Board Ship may be provided in India
from an MCA approved centre
