Introduction to HPP Process
The HPP solution is new solution to the fishmeal industry. The solution has been in
development for more than a decade and first units have been in operation since 2016. We
are proud to say that the customers already selected HPP are among the best in fish industry
with decades of experience in fish meal industry.
With the HPP solution all aspects of the process have been redesign.
The main benefits of the HPPs process are compared to traditional process:
 Full utilization of dry matter and oil. No stick water discarded.

 Simpler process. Easier to operate and maintain.
 Better quality of oil and meal. Low temperature processing.
 Automatic operation. Does not need constant human operators.
 Energy efficiency. Energy usage reduced 1/3 compared to traditional process.
 Space required for machinery reduced 1/3 compared to traditional process.

additional water. Free of foreign objects like stones,
plastics, metal parts etc.

Production stability The process runs on optimum if variations in production

parameters are kept at minimum. Constant flow of raw
material, even raw material content, operating
parameters on machine etc are essential.
Production start-up It can take hours from starting of process until process
has reached stability to be operated in semi-automatic
mode
Production stops and cleaning. The process can operate continuously without cleaning
for weeks even though the machinery is stopped for
short period of time. For longer stops the machinery
needs to be cleaned to prevent build-up of material on
surfaces and pipe clogging.
Production learning curve Fishmeal process is complex process where raw material
supply, operator skills, tuning of new equipment and
product pipeline can take months to get full control of.
This can/will affect the production for the first season of
operation and can/will cause additional cost for the
buyer and requires good cooperation between seller and
buyer.
