Activating Dynamic Light Assist on 21+ Arteons only

• You will need OBDEleven Pro in order to activate DLA. The pro version allows for long coding
which you will need for at least one step.

• Pop hood. Hood doesn’t need to be fully opened, just popped open. This is a new requirement
for 21+ Arteons.

1. Go into control unit 09 Central Electrics

• Select “Adaptations”
• Find “Fernlicht Assistent” and select it
• Change “Erweiterte Fernlichtsteuerung” to AFS FLA Fernlicht (GLW:MDF)
• Change “Menusteuerung Fernlichtassistent” to present
• Menusteuerung Fernlichtassisten Worksteinstellung” needs to be set to present as well
but it should already be that way.
• Slide to write, select code

2. Go into control unit A5 Driver Assistance

• Select “Long Coding”
• Find “AFS coding Light Assist”
• Change to “Dynamic Light Assist”
• Slide to write, select code

o On your infotainment screen select “Car” then select “Settings” then “Lights”.
“Dynamic Light Assist” should now appear in the menu. Make sure it is selected
if it is not already.

3. Go into control unit 4B Multifunction Module

• Select “Long Coding”
• Select 01010110 tab
• Find Byte 10
• Scroll to bit 6 and select it.
• Slide to write, select code

• Back out to main control unit 4B Multifunction Module screen

• Make sure headlights are on Auto position
• Select “Basic Settings”
• Select “Basic headlamp setting”
• Slide to write, select code (It may seem nothing happens but it is)

• Select “Acknowledge basic setting”

• Slide to write, select code (Headlights should spread apart and/or adjust up and down, if
not just proceed to next step anyways)
• Back out to main screen

Disconnect OBDEleven from Bluetooth and remove Bluetooth module

Shut off ignition, close hood, start car and drive around. In order to activate DLA, you’ll need to push
the turn signal stalk forward once. On your dash where the high beam indicator is you should now see a
white A with an arrow around it. This indicates DLA is active and ready to turn on as conditions warrant.
Conditions for DLA to turn on: Headlight switch is set to auto, you’re driving over 37 mph, and only
when it’s completely dark out. Even street lights will cause DLA to shut off. When DLA is actually on and
in use the indicator will change to blue and your headlights will start dancing around other cars.

Push it again to manually force your fixed high beams on or pull towards you to flash someone. I highly
recommend running the high beam assist memory app so that DLA is always activated. Otherwise you’ll
have to manually activate DLA each time you start your car. You’ll also need to manually activate DLA
any time you turn your headlight switch from the Auto position. The high beam assist memory app only
works if you keep your headlight switch in the Auto position at all times.
