Operational Test of the Landing Lights

WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE
YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/O
R CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LAN
DING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GE
AR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAF
T AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF FUEL CONTAMINATION IN THE LAN
DING LIGHT ASSEMBLY.
IF YOU FIND FUEL CONTAMINATION, NO PERSON MUST OPERATE THE LANDIN
G LIGHT UNTIL:
- YOU REPAIR THE FUEL LEAK
- YOU REPLACE THE LANDING LIGHT ASSEMBLY.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, IGNITION OF THE REMAINING FUEL
IN THE LANDING LIGHT CAN OCCUR.

structions and your local regulations.
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the panel 25VU to tell persons not to op
erate the landing lights.

A. Operational Test of the Landing Lights

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE RETRACTABLE LANDING LIGHT 7LB (8LB) F


OR MORE THAN ONE MINUTE WHEN THE AIRCRAFT IS ON THE GRO
UND. THE LANDING LIGHT CAN BECOME DAMAGED IF IT OPERATES
WITH NO AIRFLOW TO KEEP THE LIGHT UNIT COOL. MAKE SURE T
HAT THERE IS A MINIMUM PERIOD OF FIVE MINUTES BETWEEN EA

CH OPERATION, TO LET THE TEMPERATURE OF THE LIGHT UNIT DE
CREASE.
(1) Make sure that the travel range(s) of the applicable landing light(s) is(are) clear.
(2) Do this test:

NOTE: This test is for the left landing light. For the right landing light, use the in
dications in parenthesis.

1.Set the LAND L(LAND R) switch to O - The landing light extends fully in n

(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standar
d tools and all other items.
