In this activity, you will interpret the meaning of visual media through
framing and social distance.
Framing is the way an image is framed by borders, lines, or colors. A
frame creates a border that connects or separates participants (characters,
objects). Framing is usually around the outside to make a picture shows a
certain feeling about it and it usually wants you to direct your attention to the
middle of the picture.
Do you know that you can create a frame using your fingers? Try this
one!
Make a rectangle with your fingers by making two letter Ls with your
hands and connecting your thumbs on one hand to your index fingers on the
other. Now look through the rectangle you have created

Social distance is the distance between the viewer/focalizer and
subject. How close or far away is the subject shown? Social distance is
measured on a range from extremely close, to extremely remote. This is
based on how comfortable we generally feel with people being close to us, in
real life situations.
