Seminar Report
Presenter: Alptuğ Dilek
Company: Tekmetric Shop Management System
Presentation date: 27.10.2021

Short summary of the talk: The seminar was about the education life and
career of Mr.Alptuğ . In his talk, Mr.Alptuğ shared some knowledge about how
he graduated and started working on the industry such as how he worked on
Tübitak Bilgem for almost nine years and now he’s working on a USA based
company from Turkey. He also mentioned a lot of different options and
companies to work after the graduation from a university.

What have you learned? In his talk, Mr.Alptuğ showed some of his friends
and colleagues as examples to show us software development side of the
computer engineering is not the only job opportunity that we have after
finishing university despite the fact that he pursued a career on software
development. It really gave me inspiration to do some research about
starting start-ups and creating solutions to daily problems in different
countries and cultures with the help of computers. He also answered all the
questions that has been asked, including mine too and shared his opinions
and experiences with us.

Which parts of the presentation were particularly important/useful?

I think most important parts of the seminar was when Mr.Alptuğ showed
soft skills and career options for computer engineers and also the part
when he answered our questions. Getting suggestions from somebody who
has been in this job for many years was important for me.

Comment on the talk, the presenter, the company and their projects.
In my opinion, Mr.Alptuğ did the presentation very professionally and paid
attention to the important points. The company he is currently working
and their shop management system project really got my attention because
he said “I do not think any car-repair shop would use this system in
Turkey, but in a different country and a different culture people want to
use this system.”
