The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it
will look after redevelopment.

Sample Essay
The plans display how a university’s sports center looks now and how it is planned to
redevelop it.
Overall, the center is to become completely roofed over and multi-functional, with
different types of facilities being added.
The entrance of the center is in the middle of its southern wall. Upon entering, reception
can be seen directly/straight ahead. Behind reception is a 25-meter-long pool, which
has a changing room to its west and seating to its east. All these facilities are to remain
unchanged.
However, the gym north of the pool is to be extended eastward, and the outdoor courts
east of the pool is to be removed to make room for a sports hall and two dance studios.
These new amenities will have a changing room added to the south of them.
There are also plans to demolish the outdoor courts to the west of the central pool.
Instead, a new indoor leisure pool is to be constructed, with a changing room south of it.
Lastly, a sports shop and cafe are to be built southwest and southeast of the reception
area respectively.

How to Group Information

actually share a changing room on the southeast side of the sports center. So, the

Lastly, we could group together the two remaining facilities, the sports shop and cafe.

“Reception” is not countable. Usually it is just “reception”. But you could use it
attributively, and then the following noun will require an article: “the reception
area“.

The given plans illustrate the area of sport center unity before and after development.
Overall, it can be seen that there will be many changes in the future, as outdoor courts of
play areas will transform into dance studios, cafes, sports shops, and leisure pools while
the central part remains unchanged.
Regarding the present condition of the sport center, the pool, which is 25 meters long, is
surrounded by four different categories, such as seating and changing rooms, which are
located in opposite directions in the same way as the gym and reception. In addition to
this, there are two outdoor courts at the sides.
In terms of the forecast plan, there will be the addition of several categories involved. Both
outdoor courts will be totally demolished and replaced by a dance studio and leisure pool.
In spite of this, two more changing rooms will be added at the lower corner of each. At this
point, a sports shop will be built on the left side of the room and a cafe on the right side.

The following maps depict the present and future view of a sports center at a university.
Overall, renovation plan is to merge all sections under one roof, with additional facilities for
the users.
Currently, in sports center, having the main building in the center along with two outdoor
courts are situated on eastern and western side of that. While entering through main door,
a reception will ahead of you. Facing north, there is a twenty-five-meter pool in the middle
for swimmers, a suit changing room in the left and a seating arrangement on opposite of
that pool. These facilities will remain same as per future projection.
Upon entrance a new sports shop and a cafeteria will be installed on left and right corner
of door, respectively. As both outdoor courtyards are to be combined, then additional
leisure pool is to be planned on eastern court, instead of western one, there is a plan to
build upgraded sports hall, dual dance studios .
Notably, walking to end, a gym can be seen now which will be extended transversely.

The first plan provides information on the current sport field of a university, whereas the
second depicts the planned future developments of the area.
Overall, it can be clearly observed that the sports center will undergo significant
transformation, with the addition of many new amenities beneficial for athlete students.
These changes will occur at the expense of the present outdoor courts.
Prior to the redevelopment, the sport playing area features now reception at the entry,
leading to a 25m swimming pool located on the center. On the left of the pool lies one
changing room, while on the other side, there is a seating area. Additionally, a gym is
situated north. On both sides of the sport field, there are outdoor courts that are planned
to be demolished.
Although the current layout will remain intact, the sports area will experience notable
expense and will consequently look very different. To the west, a large leisure pool will be
added along with a changing room and a sports shop. Furthermore, the gym zone will
extend and, next to it, a sports hall is forecasted to be built. Moreover, two dance studios
are going to open next to each other along with a café and an additional changing room to
the east. These developments will be resulted in increased opportunities for the university
students and access to a wider range of facilities and activities.

Overall, in the future plan the total area of the sport center will be enhanced, the main
building will include the outdoor courts that are located each side of the main
construction. Also new facilities will be added to this center in the following years.
For entrance area, it will be enhanced throughout both west and east side of building. The
two changing rooms will be placed at southeast and southwest corner of the sport center.
Also cafe and sports shops will be added of each side of main door.
On the top of the construction, the leisure pool will be settled at the west wing of the
building. From west to east, changing room, 25 m2 pool and seating will stay same place

refurbishment.
Overall, the plans show the university sports centre present and future redevelopment
look of how it will look.
The reception,gym , changing room , seating, 25m pool location remain the same but they
expand the gym area which is connect with two new dance studio , and they added
additional changing rooms . Moreover, the changing rooms is on the left and right side at
the end from the reception And the South east side changing room is to be connecting
with a cafe at the left side of it and south west is to be joining with a sports shop at the
right side ot changing room. At the moment, to the South west and south east from the
reception there is two outdoor courts however they planned to be remove the western
side outdoor courts with a big leisure pool and the Eastern side outdoor court is to be
replaced by a sports hall .

sentence. If you you want to use “are to be added”, you need to add “that”: with
different types of facilities that are to be added.

Overall, the main theme of the planning is to reconstruct the sports center with the
introduction of several basic infrastructures. The major change is the expansion of the
sports center by the demolition of outdoor courts .
In detail, it can be inferred that the new building of the sports center will remain
unchanged except for the expansion of the gym towards the eastern side. On both
southwestern and southeastern corners, there is a plan to build changing rooms with a

facilities that will boost in the future according to plans.
In an overview,the large number of facilities will be added in sports centre,also its area will
be broaden after the redevelopment.
According to present map of the university sports centre have swimming pool in the
