Sushil Kumar’s Murder Case:

Sushil Kumar is an Indian freestyle wrestler who born on 26th May 1983
in Barpola village, located in the outskirts of New Delhi. His father
name is Diwan Singh and his mother name is Kamla Devi. He came
from a modest background and he was inspired by his cousin and father
to take up wrestling. His family supported and provided with all the
necessities to make him a successful wrestler.
He started as a promising wrestler at junior levels and went onto
winning the gold medal at Asian Junior Wrestling Championship in
2000. He won his first tournament in 1998 at World Cadet Games, he
won a gold medal. In 2003, Sushil Kumar participated in Asian
Wrestling Championship held in New Delhi winning the bronze medal
in 60kg freestyle wrestling category. In the same year he participated in
Commonwealth Wrestling Championship, London winning the gold
medal. He carried the Indian flag in the opening ceremony of 2012
London Olympics. He won the silver medal there in 66kg freestyle
category. He won a lot in his career which is listed below:

He was honored with the Arjuna Award in 2005. He won the highest
sporting honor in India, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 2008. He
was honored with Padma Shri in 2011.
In the last week Sushil Kumar was arrested for his alleged involvement
in the murder case of a 23 years old wrestler, Sagar Dhankar at Delhi’s
Chaatrasal Stadium, Long with co-accused Ajay from outer Delhi’s
Mundka area. Sushil had been sent to six days police custody along with
Ajay four days police custody. As they were not cooperating with the
police properly, police called for a seven days custody. According to
police, there are 18 to 20 people involved in this case. Sushil and his
mates assaulted Sagar and his two friends. They all were admitted in the
hospital. Later, Sagar died due to the injuries. Police called him the
“mastermind” of this fatal attack before the court. Sushil was on the run
for nearly three weeks. Police had raided several locations and
neighboring cities to arrest him. On May 18, Sushil Kumar approached a
court in Delhi seeking protection from arrest. He said that the probe
against him are biased and the injuries caused the victim are not caused
by him. However, court dismissed his anticipatory bail plea.
