The teacher decided to become an educator because teaching became their passion, wanting to guide students and help shape their futures, despite it not initially being their first career choice. They feel nervous but motivated during classroom observations, understanding them as opportunities for growth. The biggest challenge was catering to diverse learners, but they overcame it by better understanding each student to tailor teaching strategies. They do not support abolishing senior high school as some students fell behind during the pandemic and need in-person classes to catch up and prepare for college.

1. Why did you decide to become a teacher? Is it your first choice or not?
I decided to become a teacher because teaching has become my
passion. I want to become a part of the lives of my students and mold them to become better for their future. It is not my first choice but as time passed by, I have learned to love it and embrace its calling.
2. How do you feel about classroom observations and walk-throughs made
by your superiors? With regards to classroom observations and walk-throughs made by my superiors, I always feel nervous but at the same time motivated to teach my students with the best of my ability. I also understand that those are part of our professional development as teachers, to be assessed with our performances and to receive feedback and further develop effective teaching strategies we could use inside the classroom. 3. What is the biggest challenge/ problem did you encounter as a teacher? How did you overcome it? The biggest challenge I have encountered as a teacher is the diversity of our learners. Teaching with different kinds of learners, having different personalities, characteristics and learning styles, it is definitely challenging to come up with teaching strategies that could cater to each of their needs. I have overcome it by knowing more about my students and assessing them so that I could come up with teaching strategies where they could learn best. 4. Are you in favor of abolishing the senior high school program? Why or why not. I am not in favor of abolishing the SHS program because I have personally experienced how some of the students were not able to learn well during the pandemic and they must catch up with what they lack now with face-to-face classes. SHS program prepares them of what is in store for them in their college years/tertiary education.
