DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, RAIPUR

GUIDELINES FOR SUMMER ACTIVITIES (2023-24)

CLASS-I

“Let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow.”

Dr. A PJ Abdul Kalam

Dear Parents

Childhood is a crucial stage of development. Most of life‟s important lessons are learnt here.
We, at school, always aspire to put in our best efforts for the overall personality development
of our children. But we cannot achieve this without your co-operation. Let us join hands and
make sincere efforts to augment and hone the learning process of the child through the
inculcation of self-learning and keen observation.
 Encourage your ward to speak in English at home and provide him/her with an
ambience to improve spoken English.
 Encourage your child to read books and newspapers. This will go a long way in
developing good communication skills and language skills.
 Take the child with you for a morning/evening walk and help him/her observe the plants
and trees around
 Try to play indoor games with them instead of letting them watch television or use
technological devices.
 Encourage them to take care of PERSONAL HYGIENE.
 Allow them to assume responsibilities for small household chores like dusting of the house,
cleaning wardrobes, keeping water bowls for birds and watering the plants.
 Try narrating family anecdotes to keep them in touch with their roots.

General Instructions for submission of holiday homework:

 Submit the holiday assignments in separate folders for each subject, mentioning the
name, class, section and subject on the cover page.
 Assignment should be submitted on the reopening day
 The work should be done earnestly by the child and should be handwritten.
 The work will be evaluated on the following parameters
 Neatness
 Presentation
 Creativity
 Timely submission

Have a wonderful and safe vacation!

Empathy Exactness:

Empathy begins with understanding life from another person's perspective. Nobody has an
objective experience of reality. It's all through our own individual prisms. Empathy is about
standing in someone else's shoes, feeling with his or her heart and seeing with his or her eyes.

Examples of Empathy:

Friends in trouble Empathy for sick Empathy for Needy

Empathy for old age

Help differently abled Empathize orphans Empathy for Nature Empathy for animals

The entire month of June-July 2023 is devoted to erudition, comprehending and applying empathy.
We believe it is the ideal technique to involve kids in articulating „Empathy‟ through their act of
kindness thereby inspiring and deeply ingraining the ideologies within them.

Students need to portray their empathetic actions with two or more real-time photographs pasted
on A-4 size paper with a suitable title and write-ups and submit it on the reopening day of the
school.

The students are also encouraged to submit the materials associated with “Mother‟s Day
Celebration” & “International Yoga Day” in any of the following categories

 *Poem *Story *Slogans *Collage *Anecdotes

 Any other creative way of expressing their understanding of the topic is appreciated.
