At this time, I, MHC Krishan Lal No. 1252 from Madhuban police station, I am present to
record a written statement No. 1040 about Deepak alias Deepu, son of Jagdish, of Punjabi
caste, resident of house no. 160 near Central Jail, Amritsar, approximately 40 years of age,
mobile number 7837138429, which was taken into custody by constable Rinku No. 1703.
The statement is a duplicate and states that Deepak, son of Jagdish, residing near Central
Jail, Amritsar, has stated that he has been working as a helper on bus no. AR 20 8537 video
coach sleeper for about 8 months. The bus driver was Baljinder Singh alias Billi, son of
Balkar Singh, from DHANDAL PS BINDI SADHNA district Amritsar, who was driving the bus.
On 05.01.2023, they left Delhi for Amritsar with 40 passengers around 9:00 p.m. When the
bus reached near Bastada district Karnal, there was a metal signboard on GT Road
indicating "District Karnal". As their bus passed underneath, the board fell onto the bus roof.
When the bus driver climbed the roof to remove the board, he fell onto the road, and the
metal board landed on him, causing severe injuries to his head and breaking his right leg
below the knee. Shortly after, another bus from their company arrived. The injured driver
was taken to the government hospital in Karnal and later referred to Kalpana Chawla
Medical College, where he died during treatment. The driver, Baljinder Singh, died due to
injuries caused by the falling metal board from the bus roof. I have written my statement

Proceedings by the police - Today, Myself, SI, am present at the police station with constable
Rinku, having received information from the Government Hospital, Karnal, about the death
of Baljinder Singh, son of Balkar Singh, resident of DHANDAL PS BINDI SADHNA, district
Amritsar, due to injuries in the accident. On this information, I, SI May with constable Rinku
1703, proceeded to GH Karnal and obtained the post-mortem and MLR NO
NS/06/2023/06.01.2023. The doctor reported a total of 6 injuries, and an opinion was
sought from the radiologist. During this time, information about another death was
received, and the body was obtained from the police post. At the Kalpana Chawla Medical
College in Karnal, Deepak alias Deepu gave his statement, which was read and signed by
him. The statement, post-mortem, and MLR were considered, and it was concluded that the
driver, Baljinder Singh, died due to injuries caused by the falling metal board from the bus
roof. No one is found guilty in this incident. The statement is being sent to the Madhuban
police station for recording in the general diary. The general diary should be informed with
a copy of the report. I, SI, am engaged in proceedings under 174 CRPC. Today, at the Dead
