[and] hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. Neither is there any
daysman betwixt us, [that] might lay his hand upon us both. And his brethren went to feed their
father’s flock in Shechem. He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; [but] he that
despiseth his ways shall die. The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close
places. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or
unclean. Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have
found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.
Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my
miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times,
and have not hearkened to my voice; Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their
fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it: But my servant Caleb, because he had
another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he
went; and his seed shall possess it. And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of
Padanaram, and blessed him. Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the
commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto
me: Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon
Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against
them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but
they have not answered. And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. Put
me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified. And David
said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this

the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baalmeon: And eastward he inhabited unto
the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied
in the land of Gilead. And he cut the ram into pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces,

bitterly. Now these [are] the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto
them were sons born after the flood. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which [had]
the writer’s inkhorn by his side; And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city,
through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that
cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. Woe unto you, scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within
they are full of extortion and excess. Her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn. And
thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make the mitre [of] fine linen, and
thou shalt make the girdle [of] needlework. And the barbarous people shewed us no little
kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and
because of the cold. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had
received the messengers, and had sent [them] out another way? [By] terrible things in
righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; [who art] the confidence of all the
ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off [upon] the sea: Which by his strength setteth
fast the mountains; [being] girded with power: Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise
of their waves, and the tumult of the people. And the princes said unto them, Let them live; but
let them be hewers of wood and drawers of water unto all the congregation; as the princes had
promised them. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. And it came to pass, as Moses entered
into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood [at] the door of the tabernacle, and

rivers [and] streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass
thereby. Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which
the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done [that] which he spake by his
servant Elijah. And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people
sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. And Noah
[was] six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth. Nevertheless if thou
warn the righteous [man], that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live,
because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul. Will the men of Keilah deliver me up
into his hand? Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes:
say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee. And where
[be] all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from
Egypt? And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that
which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. Your words have been stout against
me, saith the LORD. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall
dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in
booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I [am] the LORD your God. And God set them
in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over
the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that [it was] good. And I
said, A basket of summer fruit. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children
of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate [themselves] to vow a vow
of a Nazarite, to separate [themselves] unto the LORD: He shall separate [himself] from wine and
strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he
drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. Let not thine heart decline to her
ways, go not astray in her paths. The Tirshatha gave to the treasure a thousand drams of gold,

keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon
thy throne for evermore. Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? And the king’s servants

of that city shall take that man and chastise him; And they shall amerce him in an hundred
[shekels] of silver, and give [them] unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up
an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his
days. I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
Thus far [is] the judgment of Moab. Blessed [are ye] that weep now: for ye shall laugh. And they

and to comfort him. In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to

die. But the chief captain Lysias came [upon us], and with great violence took [him] away out of
our hands, Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take
knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him. For the priest’s lips should keep
knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he [is] the messenger of the LORD of
hosts. And Laban went into Jacob’s tent, and into Leah’s tent, and into the two maidservants’

month [is] the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten. In the same day shall the Lord

be] upon Israel. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon,
being [found] blameless. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have
kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. And the angel of the LORD came
again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise [and] eat; because the journey [is] too
great for thee. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no [more], until he
come whose right it is; and I will give it [him]. For I was ashamed to require of the king a
band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken
unto the king, saying, The hand of our God [is] upon all them for good that seek him; but his
power and his wrath [is] against all them that forsake him. The Amalekites dwell in the land of
the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and

done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Calling a ravenous bird
from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken [it], I
will also bring it to pass; I have purposed [it], I will also do it. And thou shalt take the

as seeing him who is invisible. Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath
cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to
possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from
before thee. For Ahaz took away a portion [out] of the house of the LORD, and [out] of the house

Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of
hosts that dwelleth [between] the cherubims. And immediately he rose up before them, and took up
that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. Because they have forsaken
me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither
they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the
blood of innocents; They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire
[for] burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake [it], neither came [it] into
my mind: Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that this place shall no more be
called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter. And I saw

holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may
teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, [To be]
discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be
not blasphemed. He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown [from] my head. And that

hand, and will give it unto thee, [even] ten tribes. And the hand of Midian prevailed against

quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the
earth before the face of the LORD: for the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as when
one doth hunt a partridge in the mountains. And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in
with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place: For it was said to
me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go
by the way that thou camest. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom he
will he hardeneth. Doth not their excellency [which is] in them go away? Then I spake unto them

interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise [men] of my kingdom are not able to make known
unto me the interpretation: but thou [art] able; for the spirit of the holy gods [is] in thee.
But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence;
that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall

idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth [is] the
Lord’s, and the fulness thereof: Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is
my liberty judged of another [man’s] conscience? Or else let these same [here] say, if they have
found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council, Except it be for this one voice,
that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question
by you this day. This [is] a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a

soul; All the while my breath [is] in me, and the spirit of God [is] in my nostrils; My lips
shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit. So then if, while [her] husband liveth,

they bend their tongues [like] their bow [for] lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon
the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD. For there
shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel. And the
servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave [them] to
