Before we start painting the
miniature, we locate the light
reflections on the armour by
taking a picture of it under
our desklamp. As you can see
in the photos, i have 4 angles
of light on this model. I
primed it in Chaos black as it
has a great shine to it. I have
added a guide for how to
locate light reflections in the
patreon post.
Paints used :
- Abaddon black
- Mephiston red
- Wild rider red
- Evil suns scarlet
We start by basecoating the We now glaze the frame of the light
reflections on the armour, by
armour with a 2:1 mix of adding 1 more part of mephiston
mephiston red & abaddon black. red to the basecoat mix. Add 2
parts of water.
We now take pure mephiston red & glaze We now add a ½ part of wild rider red to
towards the center of the light reflections. the previous mix, & glaze the center of
We furthermore add a ½ part of evil suns the light reflections. We furthermore
scarlet to the mephiston red & glaze the highlight around the trim & add
center of the light reflections. scratches by painting thin lines & dots,
with the same mix. Add 1 part of water.
We now add 1 full part of wild rider red & glaze the very center of the
light reflections once again – we also highlight around the trim, where
the light reflection are the brightest. Finally we blackline, in between
the trim & the red armour, with abaddon black. Add 1 part of water.
