Terminator blue armour

PDF tutorial
Before we start painting
the miniature, we locate
the light reflections on
the armour, by taking a
picture of it under our
desklamp. I primed it in
Chaos black as it has a
great shine to it. I have
added a guide for how to
locate light reflections in
the patreon post.
Paints used :
• Ultramarin blue (Vallejo Game color)
•Black
•Dark sea grey (Vallejo mc)
•Electric blue (Vallejo Game color)
We start by basecoating We now glaze the frame of the
the armour with a 3:1 light reflections, with pure
mix of ultramarin blue ultramarine blue. Add 1-2 parts
of water.
& black.
We now add 1/3 part of electric We now add a secondary reflection, on the areas facing
downwards & the shaded areas, by glazing with a 1: 1/3
blue to the ultramarin blue & mix of ultramarin blue & dark sea grey. Add 1-2 parts
of water. We furthermore glaze in the center of the
glaze towards the center of the main light reflections, by adding a ½ part more of
light reflections. electric blue to the previous mix in the last step.
Ive added a guide for how to understand secondary
light reflections in the post aswell.
We now add the last ½ part of electric blue to the previous
mix & glaze the very center of the light reflections. We
furthermore edge highlight all the edges, that are catching
light (see reference photo). For the remaining edges, we edge
higlight by adding 1 full part more of dark sea grey & a ½
part of electric blue to the mix we used for the secondary light
reflections. Finally we add scratches with a 1:1 mix of
ultramarin blue & electric blue. Add 1 part of water. Its now
done J
