Five major minerals, hematite, quartz, calcite, kaolinite, and chlinochlore,

and one minor fluorapatite, have been identified in dilband iron ore.
Dilband iron ore is composed of hematite, quartz, calcite, kaolinite,
chlinochlore, and fluorapatite minerals.
•Hematite-ooides, hematite-peloids, and hematite-biosparite are the major
iron stone textures.
• Gangue minerals, namely quartz and kaolinite, are
So finely disseminated in hematite ooides and peloids
That no classical technique can be applied to upgrade
The dilband iron ore solely on the basis of physical
Properties.
Phosphorous is most probably disseminated in the
matrix as compared to ooides and peloids.
The data in hand is scare to ascertain the dissemination of phosphorous. The elemental
distribution in Dilband iron ore indicates that Fe in the coarser size fractions is substantially
high as compared to finer size fractions, whereas silica is almost equally distributed in all
the fractions.
Equivalent percent distribution of iron, silica, alumina, calcium, phosphorous and sulfur in
all size fractions is also noted in XRF analysis.
DEPOSIT IN PAKISTAN
Among the other indigenous iron ores, the Zard Koh and Kulli Koh are
two newly discovered iron ore deposits of Pakistan. These national assets
are distributed nearby the Dalbandin town, Chagai district, Balochistan,
Pakistan.

DEPOSIT IN WORLD
Australia and Brazil are among the world's largest iron ore producers and
hold a large portion of the world's iron ore reserves.
Australia makes up half of the world's iron ore exports.
Brazil exported around 23 percent of the world's total iron exports.
In 2002, GoB granted a mining lease to BME over an area of 13,660 acres in Dilband for
exploration iron ore.
Lease is valid up till 2032. 250 million tons iron reserves established.
Fine iron ore from Dilband was supplied to Pakistan Steel Mills during 2003 and 2004
under a sales/purchase agreement.

IRON ore is among the top five minerals found in Pakistan and the country
has an estimated 1.427bn tonnes of reserves
of various grades. Annual iron ore production in Pakistan has been very limited,
reaching 400,000 tonnes in recent years.
