Application

1. “ Growth is the evidence of life”

a. What does this mean?
In my perception it means we must consider ourselves in order to live and
grow because it involves pain. Growing up has a different level and it is
called the evidence of life because every memories, decisions and
experiences we make has been part of our life. As long as you live, live
through positive behavior and know how to deal daily circumstances.
2. Interpret the following quotation in relation to human development:
A. Every man is in certain respects like all other men, like some other men,no
other men” (Murray, H.A & C. Kluckhoh)
In my opinion, mean are like all other men because all of them undergo
similar stage by stage development during birth and determinants and
physical characteristics are present to all of them. Men are like some other
men in a way of they share same talents, needs, interest and desires for
survival and satisfaction. Men is no other men because in my opinion
individuals have their own significant difference like how they perceive, think
and react from one person to another. Even identical or fraternal twins has
their own characteristics from one another.
B. “ Man is an unfinished project. He always in the process of becoming”.
In my own way of thinking, man is an unfinished project in a way that he is
compared to a bottomless well because I believe that human beings have
infinite search for experiences or knowledge to satisfy their wants and
needs in life. As a man turns grey old, his mind, body and experiences
matured and continue to develop and that is the time the well was starting
to fill up with water.
C. In light of researches on human development, which of the two approaches
is closer to the truth traditional or lifespan? Why?
I think between the two approaches (traditional and lifespan) lifespan
approach is much close to the truth because it’s a process of human
development from conception to death and it understands physiological,
emotional, cognitive and social change that people go through.

3. In one sentence, write the principle of human development expressed in this Venn

Guide Questions:
1. You are bundle of possibilities. You are meant to develop like any other living thing or
else you will rut. Remember “Growth is an evidence of life” If you are alive, then you
must be growing and developing. Are you your ways to development?
Yes, I am on my to development
2. As a teacher, you are a facilitator of the development of learners. Read and reflect on
how one great teacher plyed a role in the fantastic development of a child. Here is a
true life story of Teddy emailed to me by a dear friend.
When I first read it, not only I was moved but also I resolved once again to
love the unlovely person in my life, no matter how much they bugged at me.
I learned that I myself would most likely to have taught me that no matter
what a child looks like or acts like, you should always give them the same
help and opportunities to thrive. The more a child is struggling the more
reason you put extra effort in helping them. It made me realize hat how
much a teacher can make a difference in a child’s life and vice versa.
