LỜI NÓI ĐẦU
Kỳ thi IELTS là kỳ thi đánh giá năng lực sử dụng tiếng anh của thí sinh trong môi trường
học thuật. Thí sinh sẽ phải hoàn thành 4 bài thi bao gồm Listening, Reading, Writing và
Speaking. Trong đó, kỹ năng Writing là một kỹ năng có điểm trung bình thấp nhất và gây
khó dễ nhất cho các bạn thí sinh.
Để hỗ trợ các bạn nâng band điểm cho kỹ năng này, IELTS Xuân Phi xin hân hạnh gửi
tặng đến các bạn tài liệu Task 2 Essay Templates, do thầy Phạm Xuân Phi và Phòng học
thuật IELTS Xuân Phi thực hiện. Tài liệu này giới thiệu đến các bạn những Template bài
viết Writing Task 2 theo công thức của nhiều giáo viên, và theo công thức PEER của IELTS
Xuân Phi. Không chỉ vậy, tài liệu này còn đi kèm với các ví dụ thực tiễn cho các bạn tham
khảo để dễ hình dung hơn.
Tài liệu này hứa hẹn sẽ giúp các bạn trang bị cho mình những tri thức và kỹ năng cần thiết
để viết bài một cách nhanh chóng và trở nên tự tin hơn khi tham dự kỳ thi IELTS.
Tài liệu này sẽ được chia thành 2 phần lớn: Simon/Other examiners’ Template và PEER
Template. Trong mỗi phần lớn sẽ lại được chia thành 5 phần nhỏ, tương ứng với 5 dạng
bài Writing Task 2 khác nhau. Ở từng phần, các bạn sẽ được cung cấp các Template cho
một bài văn hoàn chỉnh, bao gồm 4 đoạn văn như sau:

OPINION
Ở dạng bài Opinion, đề bài sẽ đưa ra câu hỏi:

- To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Để trả lời câu hỏi này, các bạn sẽ có hai hướng:
1. Partly Agree/Disagree (đồng ý/không đồng ý một phần)
2. Completely Agree/Disagree (đồng ý/không đồng ý hoàn toàn)
Do có hai cách trả lời khác nhau, chúng ta sẽ có hai template khác nhau cho dạng bài
Opinion.
PARTLY AGREE/DISAGREE
Trước khi đi vào các template cụ thể, chúng ta hãy cùng đọc đề bài sau:
Question: Some people believe that children should play outdoor games. To what extent
do you agree or disagree?
1. INTRODUCTION
Ở phần Introduction, các bạn sẽ có hai câu văn. Câu đầu tiên các bạn sẽ Paraphrase lại
thông tin đề bài cho, và câu thứ hai các bạn sẽ đưa quan điểm của mình.
Sentence 1: Suggested structures
- Many people argue that ....

2. BODY PARAGRAPH 1
Khi các bạn đồng ý/không đồng ý một phần với vấn đề của đề bài đưa, các bạn sẽ phân tích
cả 2 hướng của đề (agree + disagree) trong hai đoạn thân bài.
Ở đoạn đầu tiên này, chúng ta sẽ viết ý “agree” trước nhé. Các bạn sẽ có 5 câu, cụ thể như
sau:

Một Conclusion thông thường sẽ bao gồm hai câu. Ở dạng bài này, câu đầu tiên bạn sẽ tóm
tắt lại các ý mà bạn đã viết và đưa quan điểm cá nhân của bạn. Câu thứ hai bạn sẽ đưa một
câu Final Thought dưới dạng “Prediction” hoặc “Recommendation”.

COMPLETELY AGREE/DISAGREE
1. INTRODUCTION
Ở phần Introduction của dạng này, các bạn cũng sẽ có hai câu văn:
Sentence 1: Paraphrase the Question
Sentence 2: State your opinion and ideas
- Personally, I completely agree with this view.
- In my opinion, it would be wrong/right to…
Sample:
“Many people believe that children should engage in outdoor activities. Personally, I
completely agree with this view”
2. BODY PARAGRAPH 1
Khác với dạng “Partly Agree/Disagree”, các bạn chỉ nên viết một ý tưởng cho mỗi Body
Paragraph. Bởi vậy, các bạn sẽ phát triển ý tưởng theo công thức PEER một cách đầy đủ.

*Trong trường hợp các bạn vẫn muốn đưa hai ý tưởng một đoạn, các bạn có thể viết
tương tự như Body Paragraph của dạng “Partly Agree/Disagree” nhé.
3. BODY PARAGRAPH 2
Ở đoạn thân bài thứ hai, chúng ta sẽ tiếp tục phát triển ý tưởng với format tương tự như
body 1, các bạn tham khảo phần Body Paragraph của dạng “Partly Agree/Disagree” hoặc
phần PEER Template nha.
4. CONCLUSION
Conclusion của dạng bài này cũng sẽ tương đối giống dạng “Partly Agree/Disagree” - sẽ
bao gồm hai câu. Câu đầu tiên bạn sẽ tóm tắt lại các ý tưởng bạn đã viết và đưa quan điểm
cá nhân để trả lời câu hỏi của đề. Câu thứ hai bạn sẽ đưa một câu Final Thought dưới dạng
“Prediction” hoặc “Recommendation”.

- In conclusion, for the reasons I have mentioned above, I maintain that … It can be

DISCUSSION
Ở dạng bài Discussion, đề bài sẽ đưa ra câu hỏi:

- Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Để trả lời câu hỏi này, các bạn sẽ phải phân tích cả hai hướng của đề bài và đưa quan điểm
cá nhân. Bởi vậy, các bạn sẽ viết dạng này giống theo format của Dạng Opinion - Partly
Agree/Disagree.
Trước khi đi vào Template cụ thể, chúng ta hãy cùng đọc đề bài sau:
“Some people think that zoos are cruel and should be closed down. Others, however,
believe that zoos can be useful in protecting wild animals. Discuss both views and give
your opinion”
Ở ví dụ này, chúng ta sẽ ủng hộ ý kiến đầu tiên của đề bài, rằng “zoos should be closed
down”

Ở phần này, các bạn vẫn sẽ có hai câu văn như dạng Opinion. Câu đầu tiên các bạn sẽ
Paraphrase lại thông tin đề bài cho, và câu thứ hai các bạn sẽ đưa quan điểm của mình.

wild animals” nhé. Các bạn sẽ có 5 câu, cụ thể như sau:

Tương tự như dạng Opinion, Conclusion ở dạng bài này cũng sẽ bao gồm hai câu. Câu đầu
tiên bạn sẽ tóm tắt lại các ý tưởng bạn đã viết và đưa quan điểm cá nhân để trả lời câu hỏi
của đề. Câu thứ hai bạn sẽ đưa một câu Final Thought dưới dạng “Prediction” hoặc
“Recommendation”.

PROBLEM-SOLUTION
Ở dạng bài Problem-Solution, đề bài sẽ yêu cầu các bạn đưa ra vấn đề hoặc nguyên nhân
của 1 hiện tượng nào đó, đồng thời nêu giải pháp cho vấn đề đó. Bởi vậy, dạng bài này sẽ
được chia làm hai hướng với hai template khác nhau:
- Cause - Solution (Nguyên nhân - Giải pháp)
- Problem - Solution (Hậu quả - Giải pháp)
Với hai hướng này, đề sẽ có hai cách hỏi:
- Why is this happening, and what measures can be taken to tackle this problem?
- What are the problems and solutions?

Đầu tiên, chúng ta sẽ cùng đi vào Template cụ thể cho hướng đầu tiên - Cause - Solution
nhé.

Ở đoạn đầu tiên này, chúng ta sẽ trả lời câu hỏi đầu tiên của đề bài (Why is this happening)
- tức là đưa các nguyên nhân gây nên vấn đề đề bài đưa. Các bạn cũng sẽ có 5 câu, cụ thể

Ở dạng bài này, Conclusion cũng sẽ bao gồm hai câu. Câu đầu tiên bạn sẽ tóm tắt lại các
nguyên do - giải pháp bạn đã viết và câu thứ hai bạn sẽ đưa một câu Final Thought dưới
dạng “Prediction”. (các bạn không nên đưa recommendation vì nó sẽ tương ứng như một
solution mới - mà bạn đã đưa solution trong thân bài rồi)

Sentence 2: Do các câu hỏi thay đổi theo từng bài, và do có rất nhiều cách hỏi khác nhau,
các bạn cần cân nhắc trả lời sao cho trực tiếp, đầy đủ và rõ ràng nhé.

2. BODY PARAGRAPH 1
Ở đoạn đầu tiên này, chúng ta sẽ trả lời câu hỏi đầu tiên của đề bài (Why is this happening)
- tức là đưa các nguyên nhân gây nên vấn đề đề bài đưa. Câu hỏi này có yêu cầu tương tự
như phần “Cause - Solution” trong dạng số 3, vậy nên các bạn có thể tham khảo Template
của phần đó nhé.
3. BODY PARAGRAPH 2
Ở đoạn thân bài thứ hai, chúng ta sẽ trả lời câu hỏi số 2 – “Do you think it is a negative or
positive development”. Nhìn chung, cách viết đoạn văn này cũng giống một đoạn văn trong
một bài Opinion hay Discussion thông thường, các bạn sẽ phát triển từ 1 ý tưởng trong một
đoạn văn. Điểm khác biệt duy nhất là bạn cần trả lời rõ rằng đây là một “positive” hay
“negative development” ngay từ câu Topic Sentence đầu tiên.
- Personally, I deem this a positive/negative development because …
- I consider this trend as progress as …
- I am of the opinion that this is a negative trend considering its adverse impact on …

4. CONCLUSION
Ở dạng bài này, Conclusion cũng sẽ bao gồm hai câu. Câu đầu tiên bạn sẽ tóm tắt lại câu
trả lời mà bạn đã viết trong hai đoạn than bài. Câu thứ hai bạn sẽ đưa một câu Final Thought
dưới dạng “Recommendation” hoặc “Prediction”.
