CONDITIONAL STATEMENT
STATEMENT
A conditional statement is a statement that is written
in the “If p, then q” format. The statement p is called
the hypothesis and q is called the conclusion.
It is also known as an " If-then" statement. If the
hypothesis is true and the conclusion is false, then the
conditional statement is false. Likewise, if the
hypothesis is false the whole statement is false

CONDITIONAL STATEMENT
STATEMENT
For instance, “If it rains, then they cancel school.”
"It rains" is the hypothesis.
"They cancel school" is the conclusion.
Example:
“if today is Monday, then tomorrow is Tuesday”
Our hypothesis is “If today is Monday”
Then our conclusion is “Tomorrow is Tuesday”

To form the converse of the conditional statement, we need to
interchange the hypothesis and the conclusion. And become If q ,
then p form.
The converse of a statement is not always true, but if it is true, then
the original statement is also true. It may be True or False.
Example:
if-then form:
If a triangle is equilateral, then it has three
congruent angles
Converse:
If a triangle has three congruent angles, then
it is equilateral.
Example:
If-Then form:
If you study hard, then you will pass the exam.
