prescribed for bacterial
pneumonia as part of the
treatment regimen.

viral pneumonias are
limited, as they often
resolve spontaneously. In
cases of pneumonia
related to the flu, antiviral
medication may be utilized
as a treatment approach.
Other treatments can ease
symptoms. They may
include:
- Plenty of rest
In instances where
children experience severe
breathing difficulties,
hospitalization may be
necessary. During their
hospital stay, treatment
may involve:
- Antibiotics by IV (intravenous)
or by mouth (oral) for bacterial
infection
- Oxygen therapy
