I am writing this letter to express my interest in the part-time job that was published in the job
search newspaper last Sunday.

My name is abc, a university student, majoring in hotel and restaurant management. I want to find a
part-time job to cover my living expenses, more importantly, to hone my communication skills and
the ability to handle professional situations. So I would like to apply for your hotel receptionist
position.

I have experience working as a front desk officer for local hotel operations and have also spent
several months working as a waiter in a restaurant. In addition, I consider myself a person with good
looks, information technology skills and fluent English.
