1. Why green infrastructure concept has to be integrated with spatial plan?

“the role green infrastructure holds in urban planning practice” is to placing ecological tools
within the planning process. As a result, human interactions with this process are central to
the success of green infrastructure investments. Moreover, one of the key things to ensure the
success implementation of green infrastructure is by making sure the framework of GI
integrated with the current policy, specifically urban planning policies.

2. What is/are the potential(s) and problem(s) of GI Implementation?

Application of GI can reduce the amount of storm water runoff, reduce pollution, and increase
urban green spaces, thus improving microclimate, as well as neighborhood quality of life. GI
provides essential ecological, social, and economic services for functioning healthy urban
ecosystems. However, the problems that mainly occurs in implementing GI is related to land
use and land ownership, natural hazard which is common things in Indonesia, and spatial
planning. Land use and land ownership basically, if the land is private then there are some sort
of mechanism to be followed by government in order to built the GI.
